What's the range of a AK-74 bullet ? Also, AKS-74U with SVD, or AKM ?
Let me know what you guys think.

Well, I know that :D, what I was trying to say is, how far a bullet can go while being accurate.

with the ak74 i wouldnt want to go more than 400. Svd can go up to 1000 i think with the right scope. And akm same as ak74 imo.

IRL the maximum effective range of the 7.62X39 is 250m, it can shoot further, but accuracy drops off proportionately to range. The SVD in 7.62X54R has a max effect range of 450m and 800m with scope. Maximum effective range is determined as the range you can expect a 50/50 chance of hitting a man sized target. The human eye and the optics used is the defining factor, not the weapon.

250m is the point where the human eye loses it's ability to distingush shape, color and contrast, hense why most modern 'assault weapons' are iron sight zeroed at 250m.

Svd and aks would be a great combo. The aks is very good close to close-mid quarters(suffers accuracy issues at mid-long, especially with sway.) and obviously the svd is good for longer distances (best sniper in the game easily) You have no weaknesses with this setup and can engage in any manner

Ok, so I got a SVD with the AKS, just one more question ... is the SVD one-shot one-kill ? (Never had the pleasure to kill someone with it), it better be tho, with that ammount of noise it makes.

It can be, center mass or hs usually will take people down with an svd in one shot if youre within 200 meters or so. I actually find the mosin to be the most Powerful in regards to one shotting people. The thing about the svd though is that you can follow up multiple shots until you do drop that person :D hope that answers your question
