My experience with trying to play nice (building a camp in Electro)
So, I usually play with a friend and we always rinse and repeat going up north and usually dying in Tisy or on the airfield. I have become incredibly bored with that and while he was away for a week I tried something different. I wanted to see if it is possible to build and maintain a public camp in Dayz. Here's a pic.

My goal was to create a friendly zone, which still has some risk visiting, but may be worth it, especially for a bambi. I was growing food and stocked up on backpacks, clothes and tools. It was basically a nice way to sit around a fire, get energized and move on. Yet, people don't understand this.

The developer and mostly the YouTubers have ruined what actions are viable in Dayz. I am dressed completely in white (most of the time), have no weapons and I still get killed 80% of the time. The other 20% are people terrified and running away when I approach them and people who are quite happy about the camp and use it. I've had 15 tents up at one time. The next morning all but two were gone, the others emptied; even the seeds and farming tools.

I understand that Dayz is mainly about shooting, but it also is about survival. We have loads of options to craft and survive on hunting/fishing, yet we can't share them or trade in any way that makes sense. This was an issue in the mod Days as well and there were a few clans that actually managed to maintain a trading base. This required significant clan numbers and only lasted so long. In short: there is no way to trade or make use of the very many options we have to produce, store and exchange goods.

The cause of events should be:

- find resource
- gather or produce
- process or store
- sell or trade

The last point is the one that isn't working. With the relative scarcity of resources in Dayz and the branching options to use stuff in the future (think vehicle repairs + base building), it would make sense to give Dayz better trade options. And to make people aware of this. I see everybody complaining about not finding this or that (including myself). Yet, in most cases these items are there, but somebody else found them, carries them uselessly in his backpack for three days and then dies without having done anything.

I think the game would be so much better, if people understand the fun of more interaction. This doesn't necessarily mean less shooting, but it can mean more kills for a reason, instead of just KoS. It's just ridiculous to think that the first thing that comes to mind is killing the farmer, instead of asking him for food.

Actualy it was a succeed for all ,Coastal Punchers, Friendlies,Half Friendlies, Cops , Bandits and Silent Mil PEW PEW Dudes but than one of two things hapened:
People read about it and wanted to proof that OP is wrong and griefed like Hell.
If someone says live is Nice, we have always people that state otherwise and they are not wrong in there perception but live can be awesome aswell and that can be proofen aswell.

Admins seem to often wipe persistence in the last Days, so it is that what is ending this Story on that Server. Not actualy the Griefers that read about it here on the Forums.
We will not know until Admins of that Server tell us for sure.

that persistant wipe is what killed me and my 3 camps.. I had HUGE camps too,, I had 5 tents filled with nothing but fully kitted M4s1' ak-101, AKMs Mp-5's and Winchesters with ghillies... I had 1 full tent of nothing but medical supp[lies, 2 full tents of military camo, 1 full tent of ordinary supplies. It devestated my when they whiped it, but if this is a continuing thing, then that blows the little Roleplay I have left for the game... This is starting to suck.

I have no clue^^ but i will continue like always on a full 60 slot public server.

Maybe i try some quick and far travels to the inland with much risk in terms of not getting the basic stuff at the coast trying to find enough food on the run without spending much time.
Have to revisit the Wolves.

I would like to have one spawn Area, around which also many Wolves can apear.
Are there many around Gorka or only the 1 to 3 very rarly like it felt in the past? or did they increased them there?
I would make fresh spawn camp near Gorka if we got many wolves there that protect us against players^^ and to have a strugle for ourselfs.

and if sanity level ever come to the game,i think that murdering or stealing high level player(survivor camp owner) should have deep impact on psychopaths sanity.

im playing on dayz.tv server with my own settings and try to find some balance in gameplay.
i try to make my gameplay that im constant need of some stuff...in game everybody should lack of something.
my newest rule of my gameplay is that i cannot use rags to cure bleeding if rag is not purified with alcohol.bandages are only to cure bleeding as it is.
so when im gonna start with fresh character,im lack of medical supplys,food,drink....from the start im deep trouble.
with the camps...im not.

if you mix this camp idea to my idea....you have gameplay going on...

The there can only be one playstyle community mentality and then the more diversity playstyle members thinking of DayZ looking for a sandbox environment.

The closest player spawn and wolf spawn next to each other is Turovo. which houses a 3 tent evac site a car spawn and in close proximity of a dam and 3 other car spawn locations, it has 1 natural water location in the city and 2 nearby. it is just north of svetlo

Other then that the next closest one is NE of Dubrovka about 500 meters, and the wolf spawn and player spawn are exactly 1,250 meters apart. (I hate berinzino)

But I do like Gorka. Gorka sounds like a good spot, When you find a popular 60 player high pop public server, drop the name here. I will assist in what I can. I could also do my scavanging in US servers then bring the loot over dump it and rinse and repeat...

If your looking for a spot that the wolves will help defend the camp- then Vyshnaya Dubrovka would be aan ideal spot, unfortunatly the wolves treat every one with animosity... Not sure if thats such a good idea, but its worth a shot

But Vyshnaya dubrovka has 10 wolf spawns in a 1000 meter radius around it.

You know what would be a good spot.... Black Mountian castle. There is a wolf spawn directly on it. but the next closets wolf spawn is 760 meters to the north from it and 781 meters to the south. closest natural water spot is 722 meters to the west north west. and a cargo truck has a spawn at the castle. there is a 2 tent evac camp to the west south west 742 meters. the castle itself is 921 meters west south west of Krasnostav

So the issue i see here is this: First of all, ppl think "hey lets kill the farmer so we dont have to pay him" and since you have no protection at all, ppl will kill you. I myself if i would see a camp with a guy i usually either leave them alone (it could be an ambush) or watch them a little bit to see whats going on. But when youre offline ppl can just think some stupid noob made his base in a big city so they loot it. It doesnt work, i hope with the new inventory and crafting system, there comes some sort of mechanic to trade with someone without having to worry about his friend probably watching and killing you from the hill but... i dont see how that could come together sadly

Devils Castle is to far away and boring lonely :).
I dont like to run long ways for this and Gorka is allready pretty far away but the only close location with wolves sourounding it and some infected inside.
Actualy i thought Gorka is a PVP Deathtrap for all the unknowing People entering that Town trying to Loot the Police Station there. Thats why i would like to place some Mines in a few Rooms.

No imho the problem is that "player spotted" bang dead end of gameplay for both parties. Had someone actually engaged with the farmer and then shot him that would be something lol then you'd potentially have a bandit situation which could be followed up on IF the gameplay supported it. So you'd have the aggressor potentially being pursued and the victim knowledgable on who did the did and next time that farmer might be a little more prepared... All this generates gameplay oppourtunity but bang-dead is the domain of CounterStrike which is why the rounds reseat and repeat every 8mins.
