DayZ

PC good enough for DayZ ?
Hello again !

As someone might remember I made a discussion yesterday about how my HP laptop was experiencing some serious frame drop in DayZ. Some people even said that I should sell it and buy a desktop instead - so I did it :steamhappy:
I had this idea in my head anyway, DayZ just gave me a reason to do it- to sell that laptop.

So I now have a 250EUR budget (I'm from Latvia) , which is equal to 260USD.
I know that's not much - but can you please help me out and give me some ideas, which CPU and Graphics card would be the best for this money.

Are there any good PCs here in this website ??

They are selling already built PCs and it's very near my location as well.

You won't be able to get anything decent for only 250 Euros. I think you'll need at least 600 or 700.

Well I don't mind playing on low settings as I did on my HP laptop. So if my laptop could run DayZ on low settings - there should be a desktop able to do that as well. Bearing in mind that desktop hardware is cheaper and there are more possibilities to combine hardware - there should be a decent desktop set which could run DayZ normally.
I mean I had 40-50FPS in DayZ on MID-LOW settings on my HP 15-p142na, which had 8GB RAM, Quad Core AMD APU 2.00GHZ and a 2GB dedicated card.. I sold it for 200Euros.. Why would there not be a desktop which could do the same -- even a bit better ?
Sry for my english if what.

DayZ Standalone is between engines right now.

Trying to build a computer "good enough for DayZ" isn't something I would recomend....

I have built my own computers... no two were the same.... all had their "+'s" and "-'s"

Start checking out things like this:

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=cheap+gaming+pc+build+2017

The internet ( like ):

http://www.toptengamer.com/top-300-gaming-pc-build/

And go from there...

In the end...you will get 100 different people telling you 100 different builds.

It all depends on what you want in a computer and what you can afford.... and find some middle ground.....

But don't just base it on DayZ Standalone.

Whatever desktop you find for 250 Euros is more then likely to already be outdated.

Save your money and purchase something that will be useable for the next 2-3years.

Completely agree. If you can spare the misery of doing without a PC for a few months and have the means to save some more money I would advise you to do this.

I think some more research on your half would have been a good idea before selling your laptop.

IMO I think you should have looked at trying to fix the issue on your laptop.

I propose from my own experience you get amd apu a10 7890k processor. It has built in graphic card and buy8 gb of ram but 2400MHz . All other components can be cheap and old. You can get medium settings 60-80 frames easy.

Thats all very well if the OP can build his own, but by the sounds of it that is not at option!

250 Euros.... you'll need a bit more than that to obtain a half decent PC

I think its on edge. I have a6 7400k and 8gb of 2400mhz ram. I play on medium settings and i get 20-40 fps. Its not good in towns really. Have in mind if you take APU processors RAM SPEED is most important because it affect on grapic. You need fastest possible.

Less than 600 can get a decent build, enough to run DayZ at 60 fps solid on max settings 1080p. If he's happy with less than that he can spend even less.

YEah right.....60-80 FPS on medium haha must be at 640x480 res
I just watched some dayz gameplay on this setup, it looked like lowest settings and low res and was choppy as all hell.

Do show us a build for under 600 Euro that can run DayZ on ultra with 60 FPS then, because I've never heard of it.

OK guys, I will buy it and possibly get the best RAM I can find around here. Also the motherboard supports all of the AMD APU Black series with the socket FM2+ so it's upgradable in the future. I will post any updates here. Im picking up that PC later today.
