There all over those little summer camps with the tiny cabins.

You dont need one, use one of the alternatives.

Hiho!
Yeah thats not an easy Task. Normaly you should be able to craft it yourself with 3 Sticks of Wood + nails(maybe nails would realy be useful thenl) or a Rope,
in my Opinion.

But now you cant so you have to find it. Its a low quality item, and the only times i found are lower and smaler towns near the starting area + little towns around big towns.
Cause you know the normal people that are not living in the big cities do not have enough money to buy a high tec oven :D

Tripods are pretty rare.. car wrecks a good place .. but they wont fit in most backpacks.. u will have to carry it to where you want to use it .. and pots havent been able to cook meat in a long time .. using a stick over a fire is the easiet way

Fill water in your cooking pot and you can use it.
I do that all they Time but i prefer the Gas Stove +Cooking Pot combination, less item space usage and the flame is much smaler than a open fire. And its 4 times faster than the stick thanks to the cooking pot.

Grilled Chicken = Golden Brown
Cooked Chicken = Grey
Burned Chicken = Mostly Black (Dont eat)

Hajami you are shure about the time?

I did that very often now:
Pot with water on fire with treepod
Pot with gas stier and gas canister
grilling with a Stick

And i have not realy experienced that much different times of finishing my meal hmm.
Hajami Jun 2, 2017 @ 3:02am
The Time the meal needs to finish is the same, maybe a little longer, but:
1Stick = 1 Chicken breast = for example needs 2 mins
1 Cooking Pot = 4 chicken Breats = for example also needs 2 mins

Thatway the Cooking pot is 4 Times faster than the Stick if you are alone.

Another advantage of having a cooking pot is that (as far as I can tell), you cannot overcook meat. As Hajami said, just fill some water in them and they will cook fine. The water also decreases over time, so watch the pots' water level (the white bar).

I didn't use to have trouble finding tripods, but I guess they are pretty rare at the moment. If you find a pickaxe you can get large stones with it (from rocks) and craft a stone oven. You can stack them to carry with you. The cooking pot fits on that oven, your fire is less visible and lasts longer.

Alternatively you can cook in houses with fireplaces and use your pot on the grid. Nothing else required, but of course you are pretty visible in a house. Wasn't a problem for me yet, as there are always isolated houses.

I too prefer the gas cooker, as I usually come across a decent number of gas canisters. Even with a large canister the cooker will only take up one space. And it can be used anywhere, while fires aren't that convenient. No need to carry matches either, unless you need to make fires to warm up or dry. And even then there are alternatives to matches, in case of emergency (drill kit, made from bark and stick, roadflare).

Right SinKing! A house is a good option. I did that in a single house left of the Air field a few times now and never got spotted cause they look on the airfield and not to single house in the woods :D I am even there if it is raining.
It is green and only has one entrance that can be easily defended for you in the inside, if you are kneeing or crouching you cannot spot you from the outside throw windows.
