[MEGATHREAD] What did you do in KSP today? (pic heavy)
Hi everyone! In honor of the new update that is coming out soon, I would like to create a nice user-friendly thread with the high hopes of making it a megathread.

Here's the question: What did you do in Kerbal Space Program today?

I formed a plan to get to Duna and successfully executed the first task of my mission: Build the ship. Here it is:

The rendezvous and docking went smoothly. It only took me some 20 minutes to rendezvous and an extra 5-10 minutes to dock. Now all I have to do is wait a while for Duna to align itself properly, then I'll be good to go.

What did you do?

Was returning from taking tourists to Eeloo and it got a bit cloudy.

Finally, yesterday, after years of playing KSP, I FINALLY built an SSTO spaceplane! I mainly built it because I was bored, so it can only barely make it to orbit, and doesn't have the essentials an SSTO typically would have, like an electricity generator of some sort, a ladder, RCS thrusters, etc. But, I somehow, ACCIDENTALLY, made it work. I'll try to post a photo of it when I can, but just imagine the bare minimum of an SSTO made from Mk2 spaceplane parts.

Made some more progress in my RP1 playthrough. I built my first rocket that can achieve orbit, and has a payload capacity of about 2 tons. It's overkill for the first few contracts but with the introduction of launch complexes, it's a bit harder to alter existing designs. I decided to go big right away and be able to churn out this design for several years before needing a replacement.

Edit:
After some time I was able to put a more capable satellite into orbit to fulfill the first science contract. I needed to meet a weight requirement of at least 1 ton and have enough battery power to last a day. I added a third stage to the original launch vehicle that carried more experiments and a very large battery pack. The avionics require way too much power for the small solar panel, so after the contract was completed I jettisoned it. What was left was self sustaining since the tiny probe core does not require much power to function. The new experiments (cosmic ray science, magnetometer, and micrometeorite detector) take up to 90 days to complete.

Haven't posted here in ages but here goes. Ever have one of those missions that goes way way better than you expected? I just had one.

I decided to build a rocket with about 10 seats to take my kerbs to their first solar orbit for experience and science.

After some tinkering, and adding a science probe to the side of the vessel, I got to the solar orbit. Now normally I struggle to get back to Kerbin after I leave it's SOI, but in this case, my brain was just working and I was able to make a node right back to Kerbin. So far, everything is going swimmingly.

I needed to drop off the science probe at Minmus but was worried about fuel however I was able to make a node that swung me around Kerbin and right close to Minmus. Near Minmus, the probe detached then burned to Minmus orbit while the main ship plotted a new node that took it to a nice return orbit for kerbin. Again, all going swimmingly.... When is something supposed to go wrong here!?

The ship actually had too much fuel left even after that unscheduled stop at Minmus and had to drop a bunch of extra tanks to come in for a nice splash down. Meanwhile the science probe around Minmus quickly docked with the orbiting lab no problems.

This turned out to be a somewhat complex mission that went off without a single hitch.
It also just feels so great to be able to get around so well with very good accurate burns and make your vessels go the extra mile!

Today, after having watched Matt Lowne's and TheBeardyPenguin's video of the Kerbal Space Program E-sports event. I decided to try and go to mars the same way they did. I wasn't able to make a reusable rocket to launch the rover with so most of the rockets I'm going to make for this will more than likely be expendable. Anyways I launched two missions so far, the rover was first, the L.O.D.O. mission was second because I forgot I didn't add a ore scanner to the rover. So I placed the L.O.D.O. probe in a high polar orbit around the Mun. The rover as is listed in the last image is in a parking orbit waiting for a more favorable time to land.

With any luck, the next time I make a post for the save, I'll have landed the rover and have hopefully launched the station next.:KSmiley:

Started a new game and didn't have any fairings unlocked yet. Used engine covers instead and they worked pretty well.

Well i tried to make an Sky Crane.
I forgot to cut of the chutes but it was on my hardcore save with no rollbacks so:
" This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here:
HUGE SUCCESS.

Took two tourists to orbit Eve.
Refueled from a tanker that was already in Eve orbit.
On the return journey, did fly-bys of Minmus and Mun.
Sent two tankers to orbit Duna in preparation for manned missions.
