Hang on to the eyebone. His resilience may surprise you.

i remember when my chester died, i threw my eye bone and the ground, its eyes were closed, but then in a while, when i came back from exploring the eye was then open, i picked it up and chester came back :D so yeah, he does, but idk if he does while holding the eyebone.

I'm pretty sure he's not supposed to respawn. The post above me is the first I've heard of him coming back. I guess they could have changed that though

Well, actually it DOES respawn.

Just like most NPCs, one day after the death, it respawns when you pick back up the eyebone from the ground or come to you *boing* boinging if you re still holding the bone.

Same occurs to pigman, bunnyman, spiders, rabbits, etc. granted you didnt destroy their house/nest/hole.

But he won't have the items he was carrying. Keep that in mind when you're playing adventure mode, and you've got all the wooden things, in Chester, and he dies in the middle of a swarm of roughly infinity killer bees, on a patch of grass surrounded by three dozen tentacles, where he decides to vomit up all of your items. You will not get your stuff back, is what I am saying to you.

You have unlocked deep and painful memories of my past. I must now go back to the origin of my tormentor and vanquish the evil tentacles that guard my hard earned treasure. Let stone and wood be heard amongst the squelching of tentacle and swamp.

You have my sword.

You know, if they ever implement multiplayer. Has anyone thought of that? I should make a thread about that.

Try it, I'll just add it to my list of other useless mp threads. :lonestar:
