-Eat up, Don't Starve
Just lost the game since it never turned on.
On a side note, it doesnt make a lick of sense to be able to craft this when you cant use it in the first place until you get a science machine to craft a boat.
I know right? Why the heck make it ready to craft right off the bat??
Regarding the comments from others about the boat UI at the bottom, if you aren't seeing any meters but just a boat shaped element, try disabling all mods. I just left all my mods turned on, figuring that since they aren't compatible they won't do anything. Turns out they erase the boat metres. I wasn't even aware of the fact that you could see the boat's health and equip slots until I looked over at my GF's screen. I turned off all mods after that which fixed the problem.
However, that wasn't before stupid death no. 2: boat fell apart because I couldn't see it's condition.

Didnt know the boat had all of that. Gonna try that next time.
Be that as it may, I still think some better form of notice should have been in place to inform of the fact that it may not be used with a raft. Don't say "but the game's supposed to be hard", that method of dying has nothing to do with difficulty, it's a simple mistake that one can't avoid without prior knowledge of it. In essence it's an unintended newbie-trap.

Agreed, especially since you can start on piddly little islands with only enough twigs to make one set of basic tools and one torch.
