Whats going on with difficulty setting?
After hitting infamy for the second time, I can't start heists on higher difficulty than Hard anymore. Last time I infamied I could pick Overkill to begin with, and then Deathwish at level 50+ (or was it 80? cant remember). And certain hesits I cant even start! Has this changed recently?

In any event, it needs to reroll back to the way it was. If I have the skill and know-how to pull off an Overkill heist on level 0 solo stealth, why shouldn't I? Also, I paid for many of those DLC that are now suddenly locked away. This was not mentioned when I infamied.

oh please stop with the drama. Just get back to level 60 and everything is unlocked again. it takes what? An hour?

The difficulty will unlock as you level up but will only need half your rank than if you weren't Infamy before unless they've changed it.

Don't try and pull that. It's still there, you don't lose what you paid for. Just like how many weapons have level locks, many heists at many difficulties are level locked. Particularly ones that are very rewarding, XP wise.
Election day is super easy to stealth, what I suggest is doing it on VH when you infamy ( non-projob, it lets you do VH, pro job is only Hard), get the 20% XP bonus and depending on what level infamy with varying bonuses, you'll get, if not more than 30 levels, then do it again. Easy peasy, you just got past pretty much all the heist level locks.

Weapons (and heists) have always been level-locked. No big surprise here.

That takes less than 3 DW missions I think...JS, BH, other

Oh wait, OP would need friends to buy those for him...

Dont try to pull what? The heists were readily available last time I infamied. Weapons, on the other hand, were always level locked. Your argument is invalid.

Same goes for you.

It's just another case of developer delusions of grandeur. "Oh, they level too fast past our precious content, we'd better try and slow that down so they can enjoy our surrondings we have crafted" just like effing Blizzard did recently with their "No Flying" idea (sidenote).

Honestly, I paid my dues, I fought all my way up to level 100 twice, no ECM rush, no cheating, 407 hours playtime, and this is how I am repaid when I infamied for the second time. It's bullocks is what it is. Pure bullocks. I bought Golden Grin and was exited to do a level 0 challange, but no. It isn't even available at all. The biggest problem is that it DIDN'T SAY. If the prompt had told me certain heists would be locked away and the difficulty locked at max "Hard" I'd stay infamy one for ever.

And here we go. People like me, who play honestly, are being gimped. People who exploit by being boosted by others are still turbo leveling. Another case of the honest players suffering because of the dishonest ones.

I just checked, it clearly says the words "You will start over..." And you know that when you started the game, you had to work up to certain weapons, heists, and difficulties.
I'm sorry if you didn't understand what this meant and are unhappy with the consequences, but now you know.

If you would have stayed Lv.100 in the previous Infamy rank if you had this knowledge beforehand, I'd suggest making manual backups next time before you infamy, or make any large change to your save file that you might want to undo.

If you would have gone for the next Infamy rank anyway, then I don't see the harm; play on as you would have. An inconvenience, parhaps, and you're certainly welcome to express your frustrations. But you do get the warning window before you confirm going Infamous.

EDIT:
Reworded "Infamy rank" because I made an assumption on the levels you were talking about. But since the levels don't even matter, went with generalized wording.

Boosted by others? You make me laugh.
At level 0 you can complete a 'DW jewelery store' in stealth solo giving you enough exp for at least level 20s. Do it again and you are level 30~. And yes at level 0 you have access to buying DW JS through the contract broker.

From level 30- 50 you just stealth Diamond store DW in stealth. And this too you can buy at level 0.

Ppppppthpt, You're funny, you should compare your gametime to mine and achievements. You havn't even poked at the Transport DW yet...LOL. Honest player my ass, a slacker more like it all while staying on the easy games and blaming others for your inadequacies.

at higher infamy you are getting lvl 32 to 36 depending on infamy bonuses, and you can have a decked out commando 553 waiting for your usage and a DR of 4 at zero infamy. Easy peasy.

edit, by the time I was done getting to lvl 45 to 60 I was back to doing DW loud.

OP, you probably lack the offshore cash to buy contracts on Very Hard, seeing as how you just went infamous. Very Hard and Overkill are not level-locked.

The only locked difficulty is Deathwish, which is always unlocked above Level 80 or if you're infamous.

But yes, the level lock is BS and stems from a time where Goldfarb still had his own vision for the game. But that vision is no longer what the game is.

Huh...didn't know any heists were level-restricted, thought only the difficulty was, well, other than not having the cash to buy it....

While I think that this "I play honestly and you guys aren't" attitude is irrelevant and incorrect, it doesn't give anyone excuses to say "WELL U DON'T PLAY A HIGHLY UNREWARDING AND OVERALL POORLY DESIGNED HEIST ON DEATHWISH SO YOU'RE SLACKING".

Overall, OP, I think you may have made a mistake with the Contract Broker system. Odds are you don't have enough cash to buy the heists on harder difficulties. If not, I'm afraid I've never heard of level locks outside of Deathwish.

Do you get upset over other game, that don't allow you to play DLC levels instantly, when you start the New Game +, without reaching a certain point first ?
Overkill isn't the first company to do this, and it certainly won't be the last one either.

Is it just me or does the OP not understand that there are level requirements for weapons and heists/difficulties in this game, and simply seek to insult others when told the obvious?

Cheese's cries, stop listening to Cloaker FM now!
