Anyone else not like Hoxton?
I like nearly every character in Payday 2, whether it be over time or right away, but Hoxton is different. I get why a lot of people like him, maybe it's his lines, or that he was the original, but I can't bring myself to like him. Maybe it's because I played 2 on PS3, then 1, but Hoxton has to be the rudest, most annoying character on here. I personally love the new Hoxton (now with the name of Houston) a whole lot more, probably cause he's the one I started with. Anyways, does anyone not like the old Hoxton, or at least like Houston more? The name change is another thing that bothered the ♥♥♥♥ outta me

Like Hox says in his break out mission :
"You wankers missed my sexy english accents? Did you? Wankers."

His attitude was better in the first game.
Then his personality downgrade happened in prison.

Yeah I figured as much, and I guess t goes with his storyline, it just gets irritating hearing all his lines being insults to that teammates. Like on the breakout, all he did was tell at the heisters! If it were up to me I would've left him

I mean, think about it. Hox felt betrayed by his team because they left him behind. We're with a man who lost all trust in his team and left him to rot in prison for two years. Bain could've planned something to get him out (As he said he's able to get the gang out of prison rather quickly -- "one way or another." when you fail a heist.), so there was really no reason they couldn't help him out. Bain just said "♥♥♥♥ it" and left Hoxton to rot. And in that sense, I guess it's fair to say that Hoxton could hold a grudge. Also, seeing as Hox continued to beat up Matt after the events of PDTH, he tends to not let go of said grudges.

Also, Hoxton deserves the name, as Houston didn't commit his first crime in Hoxton (at least it's not mentioned anywhere to imply this -- I don't think Houston even ever left the states prior to the Payday Gang, but that's just speculation.)

The only thing i dislike about the character is his sudden foul mouth, i mean i don't mind foul language but it gets tiring after a while, that i just want him to shut up.

And i do like Houston, mostly due to his dry sarcasm.

Saying you don't like hoxton is like saying you don't like breathing in this community same for wolf.

I dunno man... If my heisting crew replaced me while I just rotted in prison -- and aquired some permenant facial scars -- for 2 years... I'd ask Chains for a "F--king limo" too...

Houston for life. Hoxton's kinda cool, but he's a wanker. Houston is where it is. DONACDUM!

I don't like Houston in general (nothing to do with him having replaced Hox).
Loved Hoxton in PD:TH, he was the best.
In PD2, I still love him, but not as much, but that may just be because they brought in a bunch of new characters, many of which I like, which makes Hox less special since there are more I like.

Looks like I don't have to type out my thoughts anymore!

Anyways, I'm biased towards Hoxton, because my main character is Clover, who was his apprentice. Though... She did screw him over after a point. Like Bain and the gang at the Panic Room - but according to the lore, in Clover's case, Hoxton let it go.
blue dress appears out of nowhere

What I noticed is that they (Clover and Hoxton) both have long and rather aggressive lines towards civilians. I don't know Hoxton in PDTH, but it might be their attitude as well. I assume that's what makes him annoying for you? Or have you just played with players who keep spamming his lines? Because that can be sure annoying. :D

(Also, Hoxton seems to be aggressive towards civilians only. I assume Hoxton was screwed by civilians in PDTH? Or does he just vent his anger at them?)

It's true, I use Hoxton all the time because our attitudes are literally the same. That and his BEAUTIFUL ENGLISH ACCENT.

The difference is, as far as I know, Bain wasn't actively watching when he got arrested, and he was also taken to a high security prison, while as far as I know ingame they aren't even taken to a prison to begin with. (Quote from Garrett: 'Cuffed and on the ground')
