Optical Illusion, Burglar and not being targeted
Does Optical Illusion/Burglar's not being targeted mean that it makes the cops miss while they are shooting at you or make them target your teammates? How much does your weapon's threat level, firing or not, figure into your not being targeted? Do these skills have a cool down period like the dodge grace period?

IIRC, they make it more likely that they target your teammates if they have multiple targets to choose from. Fairly sure there's no cooldown, but I'm afraid I don't know if threat plays into it at all.

It reduces your chance to be targeted when there are other targets to choose from. Threat does not affect it. It's like muscle's, just inverted... kind of.

I never say the perk is sh1t for loud, I am just saying it is a D move to use that perk.

Using it only get you kick by majority of the community

Uh... Yes, it is.

Rogue provides a higher dodge chance, it's miscellaneous bonus (80% weapon swap speed) is far more useful than 20% increased armor regen rate AND is unconditional (compared to burglar requiring you to stand still and crouch, the exact opposite of what a dodge player should be doing 24/7), and on top of all that it doesn't put your teammates at a disadvantage by making them more likely to be attacked.

I would legitimately take Yakuza over Burglar. At least Yakuza is ICTV-compatible and provides a decent movement speed increase.

well i guess most people that take it take it for the extra concealment on suppressors for the aced version of the perk, simply switching those two perks would fix that

Yakuza does ♥♥♥♥ all unless you're below 50% HP.

Burglar gives a comfy amount of dodge and some decent stealth options. It's a hybrid deck that can speed up stealth a bit but also go loud.
Optical Illusions, Burglar, Muscle and Kingpin all affect the stat knowns as Priority, which is PD2's version of aggro. All that they really do is affect the distance thresholds where the aggro bases are. But since there is a lot of things that affect aggro in the game, I wouldn't worry about it too, much damaging a cop draws more aggro then a teammate with OI. Kingpin's Injector is really the only 'Aggro' button that is significant. They don't have a cooldown either.

Thanks all.

Enemy targeting is a long, convoluted thing which takes a lot of things into factor, including, but not limited to; distance, last time you took damage, last time you fired, last time you attacked or killed an enemy, if you hit that enemy, and if your weapon is suppressed or not. These perks push you lower down that list, meaning cops will prefer to target other players generally. Similarly, Muscle, Kingpin, and a few other select skills raise you on that list, making cops prefer to target you.

To clarify: This is only functional in loud, and has no effect on your chance to get seen in stealth, or Dodge an attack. Though it will feel like higher dodge because you're less targeted than, say, someone without the perk. Also, if everyone has the perk, they will cancel each other out, pretty much (Jokers, Sentries, and other nonplayer allies will still be priority targets above you).

In short: RNG favors the bold.

You can get lucky, or you can still get screwed even with Burglar.
