I've tried these things:
Catalyst Version - 10.2
Driver version - 8.593.100
Direct3D Version - 8.14.10
OpenGL Version - 6.14.10
If you need more information, feel free to contact me
I am not sure if the ATI Radeon X1950 XTX meets the minimum requirements to run Payday 2. I think you need a card which supports Shader model 4.0 but I could be wrong. Remember that the card is about 7 years old.
But you can try updating DirectX to version 9.0c you can find it here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34429
2) Intel i7-950
3) NVIDIA GTX 780
4) Sound is only stereo, no surround sound
I searched the forum and saw at least one user say that they thought the game had surround sound in the past and that perhaps an update broke it. Surround sound is nice, please fix it.

When ever I am in a game, the client just exits for no reason. I have done the overlay turn off and I have the latest drivers. Still nothing works. can anyone help please?
If the Steam Overlay crashes as soon as you open it try this:
Remove/un-favourite all of your Payday 2 guides.
This seemed to fix my problem with the steam overlay, give it ago.
now when i try to start up the game it goes black screen and automatically alt tabs.
there is some song/video playing this is probably the new intro or something.
when i try to go back ingame it just alt tabs agian, with the song/video still playing.
i just verified game cache and restarted steam both didnt work.
do i seriously have to redownload it agian?
