*working* fix for most intel graphic card users
you dont need to btoher downlaoding or doing many other fixes, try to run payday 2 by doing the following:
1 - goto my computer>local disc>program files (programfilesx86 for systems operating 64 bit)
2 - goto the steam folder
3 - goto Steamapps>common>payday2
4 - then there should be an exe file called "payday2_win32_release"
5 - right click on this, click troubleshoot compatability, and when it says test this program using recomended settings, click on it, then payday 2 works, after you close the game, click save these settings and payday 2 will work everytime.
6 - after you have click next afte ryou have tested the program, click close the trouble shooter, even though it says it is incompatible.

(you may need to goto steam, click steam in the top right, then click check for video card drive updates, and let it update it for you.)

Sorry i couldnt post this when i figured it out at midnight, i was too busy heisting :P

Can you confirm this works without using the DLL hack? What are your system specs.

This is a bit of an easier fix than the DLL hack, so I'd like to get more confirmation on this before editing the "Master fixes" post

another fix is to follow the dev link to the new .dll it will look like a file d3d9.dll delete the old file and replace it with this. then start the game using the files application and it works just fine.
