In my case, if this happen, welp i have all mods copied in google drive, and getting ready to stay in a solid version of starbound.

Please comment there and push for controller support to be added to the PC Game Pass and Steam versions!
They can implement controller support on PC. It's 2024, for crying out loud. Question is, can they be bothered? I'll say though, it would help this game tremendously to release such an update. It'd attract new players who have no idea of Starbound's divisive history.
What core files would it change, and how would it change them in such a way that mods would cease to function? I'm by no means a computer expert, but from my limited knowledge it'd just be things to do with keybinds and input, right? Far as I know very few mods touch on those things, the majority of them focus on adding more content or adjusting gameplay mechanics instead. I'm not sure that we really need to worry all that much about lots of mods suddenly becoming unusable...
