how to explore Lava ocean planets?

so i have a question,
What good is a burn resistance item if it doesn't protect you from Lava?

the Poison Antidote item protects you from a Poison Ocean planet's seas, so i thought this burn spray would protect in a lava ocean just as well.

i was sorely mistaken.
now agood share of my items lies at the bottom of the Lava sea

I haven't found any way of exploring magma ocean planets without making a tunnel (which in itself is REALLY hard for me) yet, but I know of a popular mod that introduces submarines that can explore all oceans. Or you can just use admin mode.

welll health kits give you resistance to burning poison etc for a while so you could just spam those to get to the bottom of the firey ocean of death

Actually, lava doesn't give the burning effect, it gives a 'melting' effect (if that's what they're called) and the burn spray and medical kits both help with burning, not melting.

you can spam the anti-burn medicine you can make at the medicine workshop. Or simply type /admin command and make yourself invulnerable.

I have gone into the game and I can confirm that using burn spray or medical kits does not work. i have tested both. It is, as I mentioned before, because lava creates a different status effect. Just for clarification, constant fast healing like nanowrap bandadges or bandages will not work either, because the lava status effect increases in damage every time.

There is pretty much no reliable way to explore lava ocean planets in vanilla. At all. If you want to invest in mods however, there are mods such as a lava resist/immunity EPP augment you can get, or a submarine type thing. Though the submarine is probably less useful since I don't think you can mine in it? Never used it so not entirely sure. In vanilla the only REAL way to explore a lava ocean planet is a tunnel method. building a tunnel in the lava and filling in the back wall and then using a drain or matter manipulator to get rid of the liquid. If you do NOT fill in the back wall lava still pours in because on those types of planets, no back wall=infinite lava.
