Logic behind empty streets of Gotham/Arkham
I've noticed around the web the Arkham series was always mocked for being unreal in the sense that the streets are always empty of civilians and flooded with only thugs.

On the contrary, there's one reasonable, explainable logic behind the absense of so many civilians:

They're indoors playing video games.

It's not necessarily "unreal" as people think.

You ever been outside? I don't see kids outdoors anymore these days. Hell, even adults. I don't realize there are any kids or teenagers living in my neighborhood until I see dozens of parked vehicles in the streets incidcating a graduation or birthday party taking place.

It's sad what this, and future, generations are coming to.

Yeah, I've been outside. There are tons of kids outside in my neighborhood every day, and adults on their balconies and porches in the warmer months. None of our neighborhoods is indicative of the world as a whole.

Haha. The reason for there being no civilians is because it would make no sense at all. Arkham origins was filled with criminals. If there were civilians, they'd all be beaten to death. Arkham asylum had "civilians" kind of but it's because it was a small setting. Arkham city was a place literally designed FOR criminals not civilians. Arkham Knight, if it had civilians, would include Batman running them over in the Batmobile and be accused of being a villain. It just doesn't make sense. People want civilians but it literally makes no logical sense to include them. If arkham knight had civilians then people would complain about that. Batman can hurt them. If it doesn't have civilians then people still complain. There is no way to win.

Well this is not Grand Theft Batman.

They didn't want to make this another generic zombie game. Civilians were all turned into husks at the beginning of the game.

However, I disagree with you. I live in Southern Florida, where it's 90+ every day of the year. Kids still play outside for reasons I cannot fathom. It's too damn hot, but they're out there.

Rocksteady simply trying to linger with the "no-kill" policy of Batman so yeah I know there were some reasons. This was a joke post because it's so comparable to the real world with rarely anyone outside anymore, and it's not just in my town.

I know there are peeps outside in some places, but as a whole, today's gen is nothing like 10 or 20 years ago where everyone filled up the parks, streets and neighborhoods being active. What's to say in 10 years from now?
