To all fellow 32-bit users
I have got every Batman: Arkham game (yes, even Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate) on Steam, I was all ready with the hype, them I saw it was for 64-bit users only. Now I would get this on console, but I only have a PS... 3. So I am stuck here with a bought Batman: Arkham Knight with New 52 and Harley Quinn pack, wondering if I will ever get to finish my game trilogy.

I am not saying they should have made a version for 32-bit users, I was just dissapointed that I wont be able to play this.

And why not installing a 64 bit OS?

32-bit is pretty much obsolete at this point. If your hardware is not 64-bit capable then it's doubtful that it's even powerful enough to run a game like this in the first place. I'm afraid it's time to upgrade your PC.

Not every program is 64 bit OS compatible. I am sure Jude's hardware is more than capable of handling a 64 bit OS. 32-bit OS's have been obsolete for a long time and should be reserved for virtual machines at this point. Even then, until B: AK is patched, it still wouldn't run right on most PCs anyway. I have over 90 hours of gameplay on it, the Tweak tool helped but I only have the texture issue left.

Unfortunately games with dual 32-bit/64-bit executables are not the typical standard anymore. A 64-bit OS can run 32-bit programs, Windows 10 64-bit is what I'm running and I can run the 32-bit version of Google Chrome without a problem and I can run all my older 32-bit executable games on my 64-bit copy of Windows 10.

Then it begs the question why he doesn't just install a 64-bit OS instead of whining that the game isn't 32-bit compatible.

Agreed. All consumer PC hardware has been 64-bit since 2007. And the last 64-bit OS to have compatibility issues was XP due to driver problems. 64-bit has been a non issue since Vista. Complaining that games don't run on 32-bit is like complaining they don't run on a Commodore 64.

32-bit Windows is also limited to 3.25-3.5gb of ram which isn't enough for gaming anymore anyway.

Windows has gotten so bloated with every iteration that 4GB is hardly enough just for the operating system!

Win10 isn't too bad from my experience. But it still takes up 1.5gb or so which doesn't leave enough for gaming on 32-bit.

Even cellphones are moving to 64-bit now. That should say something.

It's not really WIndows that's bloated. It's the size of registers, pages and general resource managment when you go from 32-bit to 64-bit. There's up to a 40% increase in memory size from those things by themselves It's not Windows that's limited either, PAE allows Windows to use in excess of 128 GiB of memory in a 32-bit environment, it's just the amount of memory given to each process that hits the 3 GiB (user-mode limit).

It happens in Linux and OS X as well. The only good news is that along with 64-bit commodity processors, memory has also become super inexpensive :)
