Thanks for the Linux port! Glad to see this happening.

Unfortunately in SR4 I'm getting a bad stutter as soon as I get into the playable game. Steam FPS counter says 50-120fps, but it's a slide-show to my eyes. Feels like 2-4 fps.

The initial cutscenes are as smooth as silk.

Arch Linux
Kernel: x86_64 Linux 4.2.5-1-ARCH
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K CPU @ 3.9GHz
GPU: GeForce GTX 660 Ti
RAM: 16GB
Drivers: NVIDIA proprietary, v355.11
HDD: Intel SSD

Tried standard graphical setting from low to high, all have the stutter.

My thoughts on it: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/saints-row-iv-now-available-on-steamos-and-linux.6408

It's okay, stutters quite a bit here and there, performance isn't great on a 980ti.
Not really an issue, more of a question. How do I get the game to use fullscreen mode to launch on a specific monitor? At the moment it's starting on monitor id 0, I want it on monitor id 1, is this possible? :-).
Yes you can choose the monitor to use, simply add this to the launch parameters:
--eon_force_display=#
Replace # with your monitor ID.
I can confirm the FPS slowdowns and the stuttering in the beginning, but later on the stutter almost complete dissapeard. I guess that the eON wrapper does the shader compiling on the fly, and that's why it stutters.

But still the FPS are little low, between 40-60 FPS (vsync on) @1080p with Ultra settings and MSAA at 4x.

I'm also on a high end rig here:

OS: Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa
CPU: AMD FX-8350
GPU: GeForce GTX 970 (355.11)
RAM: 16 GB

I encountered some bugs in coop, like that the car dissapeared, in which I was sitting with my friend. At least it gave me a chuckle, because it looked like I was sitting on his lap :)

Later I got stuck out of nowhere and wasn't able to move, needed to go back to the main menu and start the agme again. This was also in coop.

Another bug I encountered, is that you can't connect to the Community, which is needed to use the camera mode. It tries to connect but gives an error message about time out.

it works :D
Just downloaded SR4 for Linux. Running on vanilla Ubuntu14.04, 64-bit, nvidia geforce gtx 760 with proprietary driver 340.96. No matter what display setting I use (low, medium, etc) the colors are off. if the settings are set to medium or high, in the opening state everyone's skin is blue, the crosshair on the gun is blue. If i set it to low, things mostly look okay but there's a blue flicker that happens when I mouse quickly. oh, and the sun in the opening cinematic is blue (examples: http://imgur.com/a/jEuoz)

Edit: Problem was solved by updating to nvidia driver 352.63

Working here on my Bumblebee laptop with Primus, so that's a plus. Runs well on medium @ 1080p, havent tried any higher graphic settings but it runs smooth on the default so I wasn't complaining. There is the aforementioned stutter, but as its been said, it does smooth out.

I can't seem to get this game to recognize my Steam Controller. I had a similar issue with another VP game (Dirt Showdown) where I needed to add a line to SDLGamepad.config with the SC hash/ID thing (030000006f0e00001f01000000010000), but there is already an entry for that hash in the SDLGamepad.config for SR IV.

Running Linux Mint 17.3 btw. Anyone else having SC issues?

Edit: happily playing with the WASD SC template, but would like real controller recognition

Double edit:
steam --reset
fixed this for me. Weird that it only affected this one game (and profile migrations apparently)

No idea what this game is - bought it because of Linux support. Hopefully it's good ^^
running only from game directory
from steam crashing on startup

Exciting news until I read:

which prove it's a Virtual Programming/eON port, so... nope

Works for me with newest Mesa from Git. No glitches/crashes or anything, but terrible performance.

Ubuntu 15.10
Using this PPA for newest Mesa driver:

FX8320
Radeon R7 370 4G
8Gb Ram
Kernel 4.4-RC6
