i played fine last weekend now i cant get it to go past the loading screen to play a game it just dumps
backed it to an older version and it wont even go to the option menu it just dumps again all files are validated and reinstalled the game still nothing yall broke one of my favorite games ive had zero issues with going back to it coming out
Try following some of the suggestions in this thread, including disable full screen optimization for Windows 10. It's a very common cause of game load crashes.

However the game now freezes at regular intervals every few minutes during autosaves. It didn't do that before the latest patch...
In fact I never noticed the game auto-saving before.
I'm not running any mods, nor multiplayer.
Please Help.
Can you put up a save game this happens in?
I won the game I was playing yesterday and I deleted my 5 manual saves.
I only do manual saves at critical points in the game.
I never noticed the game autosaving before this update. Maybe it was doing so in the background but it was unnoticeable because the game never froze for a few seconds.
I did not notice any UI controls for managing auto-saves.
Maybe the files are saved as hidden files in another location or maybe the auto-saving process was modified by the update?
Could you give me some guidance to find those hidden files and how and where to upload them? I don't even remember if I ever made a Stardock account because I only play single player games.
Best regards.
?
In the save game screen you have an option at the bottom to "change save type" and there is a check box you can uncheck to turn off autosaves. But I don't ever remember having to do that in the past. I don't have crashes at least. The game sometimes freezes at launch and I need to ALT-TAB and skip the error message and it plays ok after that.
Still, I think the last update was unneeded and harmful and I wish we had the option to revert to the last version which had always worked fine.
Update Notes for v1.974
Minor update to address multiplayer compatibility with Gamepass crossplay.
We've tried verifying files, we've tried removing mods, we just get crashes and mini dumps.
Single Player has been fine.
how do we fix this???????? im very frustrated so im going to post this everywhere until i get some help hopefully some one from steem who can do something sees this
Sins is a game that I like to replay once in a while to scratch that SF itch. It used to be borderline playable in its first version when the AI used dogpiling tactics against the player before it was properly balanced.
Some Steam games allow you to revert to a previous version if you browse the BETA tab. I hope that is allowed for this game.
Anyway thanks for the warning. People need to know about this.
