In the vanilla versions it is easy enough that it is, for me, a minor defect, but with LW it becomes a major flaw. I've decided to use the 'friendly skies' second-wave option in future playthroughs together with using the strategies suggested by guides and spreadsheets - just not bothering to play that part of the game beyond selecting a stance and letting it run.

So far I haven't edited the ini to reduce repair times but that remains an option for me if absolutely necessary. The air game is just this chunk of utter crap in an otherwise excellent series of games.
Not looking for advice on how to play it better, but helpful advice on how to minimize it's impact on the rest of the game would be welcome.
