Simple increased accuracy mod?
Anyone know of something like that? I can't stand the base accuracy so I ALWAYS have a scope equipped, wasting an inventory space and ruling out using a lot of the other items. If there was some way to raise the accuracy of all weapons the same percentage, or add a scope to every character without it taking up a slot, that would be great.

Vanilla or Long war ?

Vanilla, with Enemy Within probably. Just something that adds a flat 10% bonus or whatever the scope does would be fine. I get frustrated trying to plan strategy when my soldiers have the aim of a drunk stormtrooper.

there should be a second-wave option called "cinematic mode".
this adds +15 base aim to all soldiers; but i'm not sure if it is a Long War addition (it has been a long time since i played vanilla).

if this does not exist, you can edit the game files to increase accuracy as well; adding base aim to soldiers if you so desire.

both these methods require you to start a new game though, or at least to train up a new team of soldiers (in the case of the file changes, as it will affect only the base aim of newly recruited soldiers)

I think I saw that when I was starting a game earlier today but didn't know what it was. I'll check it out. Thank you!

That's just flat-out cheating. Just get a S.C.O.P.E, it's not a wasted slot if you feel you need it.

I don't really care if you think it's cheating.
Doesn't matter if you're cheating or Not because it is a Single player campaign. Imo vanilla soldiers are fine the way they are and you are free to choose hidden potential to randomise stat progress at level ups, this is up to you.

I'm pretty sure you will find stats in the .ini to increase aim of your rookies by some points but i didn't search properly to be honest.

Good luck.

Heavy is the worst offender in terms of accuracy.

Early game is extremely frustrating as well, as you get better tech and skills accuracy improves later on.

I send them forward to draw fire and trigger aliens so my snipers can kill them with squadsight. They are such bad shots I just play assuming they will *always* miss :claugh:

Those are all xml now, correct? Just add it to the xml.

the Not created equal gives your guys randomized stats, so they could start with like 50 aim or they could start with 80 aim instead of 65.

just don't use the low aim soldiers.
