Have Fun :D
There's the original PlayStation controller, DualShock, DualShock 2, SixAxis, DualShock 3, DualShock 4 and DualSense [Edge]
My apologies, I'm a PC player and not really a play station player. I had assumed they kept the naming scheme the same. I'm so sorry if you were offended by my incorrect naming of the controller.
Not offended, just pointing out that it's confusing if you use the wrong name. They put an end to the DualShock line with PS5 because the new controller actually does not have rumble motors anymore.
The SixAxis is also a controller model without rumble motors. It shipped with the PS3, then later they got around some patent issues and were able to add rumble motors back and revived the DualShock name (DualShock 3).
DualSense uses haptics and has no physical motors anymore. As such, they renamed the controller. It's basically got 2 fancy powerful speakers that can vibrate (but are not intended to play audio you can hear) and produce an effect similar to rumble motors.
No genuinely, by your comment and the fact you gave/are giving me a history lesson on the controllers I thought that it meant a lot to you. Given my comment also didn't help as I can come across as a little sarcastic via text sometimes however I did feel with the answers I had received that my point had gotten across despite my incorrect naming of the controller.
I'll make sure to try and remember to call it the DualSense controller instead of the Dual Shock 5.
I just swapped all my button icons over to arrows because it's easier for my brain.
