Controller not working?

Have a PS4 controller plugged into my PC, but Mega Mix won't take any input from it, only keyboard commands. Have I missed a setting somewhere for controller choice?

My controller is definitely working because I can use the controller on other games. Anybody got a workaround or any advice - I've also tried using the steam controller override and there's no difference.

I tested earlier with DS4Windows and DualSense, it worked fine.

The game supports both XInput and DirectInput, so simply turning off Steam Input should make it work. But if all else fails, run DS4Windows (you'll be given Xbox button prompts if you do this).

Well good news I got it working somehow, bad news is that the buttons are all wrong :D O is X and vice versa and my brain cannot compute
Honestly don't know what I've done to achieve this

Its like this on Steam Deck too and i cant figure out why. Buttons work fine in the menus but are swapped in game

I used the controller configure to swap em, does means the buttons are wrong in menus now, but I can play the game at least without my brain needing to do mental gymnastics :)

I have the same problem with Steam Deck, i thought that maybe was problem by deck but it seem that ist problem of the game.

If you're on PC, what I did was right click in library > manage > control layout
and then I just swapped all the buttons around :)

so X is O, O is X, [triangle] is [square] and [square] is [triangle].

It works in the actual game by doing that, so you can press the correct button prompt that's shown on screen, but the menu prompts will be the wrong way around so you can have fun accidentally exiting the game or clicking replay and what have you.

Thought that was only me. It's making me insane, is there still no normal fix? The weirdest thing is that it works as it should on the menus.

I'm very late, but there is another way to fix it!
1. Go to Customization
2. Go to Game/Control Config
3. Go to Key Config
4. Go to the Controller section
After you do that, you can switch out the input to whatever you desire!

I have an Xbox controller and when I play project diva the joysticks don't work they did work earlier but now they don't, there isn't something wrong with the controller because when I played other games with the controller the joysticks worked, what do I do?

Reset your Steam controller config for the game

I had the same issue with Xbox controls the joystick don’t work and it isn’t the controller config it just doesn't work
I have lots of experience with controller configs and use them in almost all of my games

Hi, I don't know if someone is gonna help in this, I have a problem with my xbox controller, I don't know if I'm saying right but based on the differents comments, as I can see, I'm not the only one who has trouble with my XBOX controller. I uploaded a video to show it up.

As you can see, all of my settings are right, it's seems there is a problem between a keyboard and a controller ? I already reset, reasign, used an another controller nothing works... If you have any solution. I'll be happy to read it ! Thanks !

The control settings screen is supposed to show buttons specific to your controller; Xbox in your case. I've seen the screen you get (with the blank buttons) if Steam Input is disabled. Make sure it's enabled and accepts your Xbox controller; the game is designed to use Steam Input and can't handle controllers correctly without it.

Secondly, it looks like your prompts are switching back to keyboard whenever you're not pressing a controller button. The above solution may fix this as well, but if not, I'd take a look at what you're running in the background. I know Task Manager for instance can make this happen, so if you have any extra software running, like performance monitors or the like, try turning them off and see if it changes.
