Starfield, Worst game of 2025

As we enter 2025, Starfield continues to hold its place as the biggest disappointment of the year. Player numbers are dropping like crazy on Steam and it’s looking like it might not make it much longer. Will this be the final year for Starfield or will it somehow hang on with more updates and DLC? Right now it feels like it’s on life support.
The game had so much hype but ended up being a mess and even the next gen promises were nothing more than empty words. Players are getting tired of the same issues over and over and it’s hard to see how it can recover at this point. Maybe they’ll surprise us but it’s hard to imagine this game being anything more than a passing phase in the gaming world by the end of 2025.

The big question is whether Bethesda will finally give up on it, or try to keep it going for another year?

The good stuff takes time. If they could release mini expansions like Colonies and Robots that would be cool too.

Are you new at buying things? Products are never as good in real life as they look in advertisements. Or at least i don't know of any that are.

Anyone who bought the game and doesn't like it should take full responsibility for their decision and grow up.

You could have read reviews.
You could have watched Twitch and YouTube
You could have played it for 2 hours on Steam and refunded it (having seen enough of the load-screens that seem to overwhelm you).
You could have played it for free on Gamepass using their £1/$1 week's trial which is fully refundable.
You could have waited to see how things turned out.

Buy the game, or don't buy it, but own your decision. If you go through life with that attitude, you will never again have to spend every day, for over a year, whining on the forum of a game that you don't like or play.

Final point, if you are on minimum wage, you lost a few hours of pay if the game turns out bad. But consider how much of your time you are spending on this forum, whining about it? Time = money, so you are throwing good money (time) after bad.

I'm sure the behaviour is more to do with personality traits than it is about the actual game.

Elden Ring wasn't released in 2024 either, yet it won awards.

Sad that in 3 years no-one can release a good game.

Ok so your standard for games is "they’re never as good as advertised"? That’s a pretty depressing way to justify mediocrity. ads exaggerate but that doesn’t mean we should just accept subpar products. Some of us actually expect companies to deliver on their promises. Wild concept, I know.

Wow. The OP is a Troll because I know they can't see the future. To say it is the worst game of 2025 on the first day of 2025? It is solo sandbox game, which like any similar game, has ups and downs if there is updates. If you are going to say Starfield is the worst game in 2025 due to player count, then you better add FarCry 1-6 to the list, Assassin's Creed 1-5, etc to the list. Very few playing them now, but does that make them the worst game of 2025???

Unlike a lot of Sandbox games, Starfield has so much possibilities to add more story line and content. Current game is just the foundation to build on, but of course it's main limitation is having to run on Xbox (hence all the load screens).

Seems like every Bethesda game from Elder Scrolls Oblivion through Fallout Skyrim and now Starfield is "The Worse Game Ever!". Yet somehow I find myself playing each of them over and over and over again. Currently over a hundred hours and three restarts of Starfield and I've yet to do the third part of the Main Mission. Heck, maybe I just like the challenge.

I'm fairly new here but I can see that OP is a troll. Every single one of his posts is troll-like. And he has an ego the size of the moon, the way he keeps starting the same new kinds of threads, for attention.
