I'm not sure why they said what they said about ship customization either, frankly. While they never explicitly said ship parts, they did say ship customization options that would allow players to better tailor their vessels to their playstyle.
The only change to ship customization I can see is the addition of official flip merge support, which was part of the normal update and not the expansion, and doesn't really align with that description imo.
So it's kind of mystifying to me what they meant unless there's something just not discovered yet somehow buried, or something they planned to add but didn't make the release build or what have you. Or I guess it's possible they mixed up outpost habs with ship components when answering the question.
Doesn't ruin the experience for me or anything by any means, it's just curious.
Yeah, removing the flip-merge nerf and adding as an option was the only shipbuilder changes I knew of. The only hab changes were a while back with the ship decoration patch that added empty ones. Var'uun love their Stroud-Eckland habs, you know. heh
