30-40fps at 1440p with a 3080? Really?
I am using FSR as well, which makes it even crazier that i am somehow having trouble running this game at 60fps.. Its mixed on high/Ultra, but its at 1440p not 4k. If this is the actual performance of the game, i am refunding. Learn how to optimize games.

Thats funny I tried this and was just as bad with my 3080. I even tried 1080p not 1440p...
Wish this worked for me, ultra settings runs exactly the same. Bethesda really made sure to gimme that "next gen" FO76 FPS.

the high mem interface is what makes the 80ti cards so silky smooth, even at lower frame rates.

Feels like you never played game if you share missinformation about game not scaling properly when you lowering your graphics when its is....

RX6800, 5800x3d, 32GBram-3200, Asus-Tuff-X570, 980 Pro 2TB,
With the optimized setting from that unboxing youtube channel.
No FSR with performance mod
3440x1440,
Open zone areas 45-55fps,
Closed zone areas 80-90fps,
Cities zones 40-45fps,

With FSR at 75% everything goes up by like 10-15fps on average at 66% I get around 50-60fps in citys this is not good in the slightest in 95% of all other games I'm always at like
80-100fps with max setting non RT with RT in other game's this is the type of performance I would see Starfield runs so bad I can legit can run other game's with max settings and RT included and still have a higher fps compared to Starfield and those game's look leagues better in every way possible.

Don't get me wrong as a hater we've all been seeing in the forums lately but Starfield runs like crap and there's no denying it there's straight up hundreds of examples from benchmark's reviews and now the players.

You may say it runs fine for you but guess what it doesn't consider this what you consider good performance should be even better performance than what you already have this game is a mess in the performance department with my rig and basically everyone here with higher end rigs we shouldn't be forced to use upscaling to get a reasonable framerate my rig should be easily be getting 60fps max setting all day any day but nope I have to heavily degrade the graphic fidelity of my game just to stay over 60fps at all times with upscaleing.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game but this right here is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid I have only been forced to use upscaling two time with this rig over the years to hit that 60fps+ at all times and that is Starfield & Remnant2 these are the only two game's I can't play at 60fps without being forced to use upscaling this right here is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clear as day ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they knew that this game ran like crap the evidence is FSR is on by default even on the ultra preset I'll say it again I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game but my god this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Uhm... yes? This seems accurate. Someone was getting around 50 FPS in 1080p with a 2080.

The game runs like trash.

Those are respectable framerates. I don't get much higher on my 4090.
iceman1980 Sep 5, 2023 @ 10:24pm
Turns out there is all stuff all difference between ultra and low almost.

Starting to think the graphics config files might be configured wrong the ultra.ini, and the high.ini files.

Yep. I have a very high tolerance for Bethesda's bugs, as I've been playing their games for ages, but this is just ridiculous. My specs exceed the recommendation by a long shot, yet I struggle to get more than 30-40 FPS in any area that's slightly open and populated, even on lowest settings.

I'm certain it'll get optimized as time goes on but good grief, this performance is disappointing for what's an otherwise truly amazing game.

Yeah I agree with everything written on this thread. I have RX 6700 XT and at 1080p, can't even get above 60 fps. Definitely needs optimization. C'mon guys? My cards usually crushes 1080p with ease.

Looking at low vs ultra the only difference is sharper and more shadows... For a massive FPS cost.

What CPU?
Ram speed and timings?

Starfield seems to be very sensitive to memory bandwidth.

ive been running on a 3060, seems to run okay on high, with 2k resolution. I just played for 2 hours on a 3080, i9, and it seems to run fine exploring atlantis. I havent yet experienced any fps drops, fsr and scaling resolution is off at 2500x 1000 ultrawide ish resolution. It feels pretty quick. It looks pretty nice. Admittedly im running it on high rather than ultra, but i am really enjoying it. The gpu is getting rather toasty though.

I still have yet to test it on the 3050ti gpu or the 2060 on my other gaming laptop. The 2060 is 2 years old mind you and only 6gb so not sure how that would run. My laptop kit is pretty new only 2 months old and the ssd is so quick on it.

Did you break the graphics settings Bethesda? They all look pretty much the same...
It's because the only setting is resolution scale, otherwise most vanilla textures I believe are 2k. for some improvement download a texture pack from nexus

The min and recommended specs are based on 1080p 30-60fps. so im sorry to burst your bubble, as its doing just fine for the specs at the minimum and recommended level at 1080p 30-60 fps, console ports are almost always based at 30fps but sometimes 60fps.
