Persona would really benefit having autosaves to prevent loss of progress
so i played persona 5 royal on console and i absolutely have been having a blast but i'm taking a break (unsure when or if ill come back to persona 5) because of lost progress i was playing normally never had any real major bugs or glitches its crashed maybe once or twice in a 80 hour save but i was playing my latest save had been 9/23 i played up until 10/24 and the game just closed out of nowhere and tells me it needs an update like i literally had been playing all day having so much fun but man this really killed my drive to play this because i lost a ton of progress played from maybe 9am to 7pm got like 4 confidants max made great progress on the story but lost it all because a 128MB update like this game needs or would really benefit from an autosave system to prevent loss in situations like this

Don't want to burst your bubble, but it's your fault for not saving for an entire in-game month.

It's literally u can save anywhere in real world, safe room scattered around each palace so i believe there are more than 5 safe rooms each palace, and in mementos u can literally save in every safe area and each mementos area at least has 1 safe room or simply use Goho-M and save your progress in mementos entrance, i don't use goho-M tho

I even always save twice before and after doing fusion alarm, i also save everytime at school after school and when go home at leblanc, there's no reason u don't do save. Now i am end of January NG playthrough, hopefully i don't face any additional update that break my game up to this point.

few things first the game shouldn't just close out of nowhere for a update second sorry for getting lost in the story and enjoying the game i was very interested in the events of the story and wanted to keep going that i forgot to save third i was already done with the palace i completed it the first day it was open to me and i wasn't allowed in mementos for story reasons all I was doing basically all day was slice of life the normal day to day stuff mostly hanging out with confidants and raising my social stats fourth yes its my fault for not saving my point is this game could definitely benefit having an auto save for example at key moments like a deadline passing or a major story event and was sharing that and my experience for others

You can save pretty much anywhere. It's on you to save your progress. Persona games aren't hard and they generally hold your hand enough. Didn't realize some players need it to save for them too. XD

While I agree it should have an auto save, during the day transitions for example, losing *that* much progress is 100% on you. You should save every hour, every two at an absolute minimum. This isn't even about the game, its about literally anything you are working on with a computer; a school project, a business proposal, a piece of artwork, a section of code. Power outages, equipment failures, bugs, corrupt files, there are so many things that can suddenly go wrong and delete hours of progress if you don't save periodically. Take this particular experience as a life lesson, always save your work.

I couldn't (Ctrl + S) have said (Alt + F --> S) it better myself (Ctrl + A --> Ctrl + C).

To the moderators, I refuse all responsibility for the swearing implied by the censoring of the quoted post's user name. First off, I didn't actually type it, it was auto supplied by the quote function, and second If your chat filter is taking exception to that user name, why did you let them use it a user name in the first place?

While I dont think persona should have an autosave it absolutely should ask you if you want to save after finishing a boss fight especially when these bosses are usually multiple phases and are proceeded with lengthy dialogue and cutscenes.

i would like to also add this is my first persona game I play plenty of other games with manual saving but never really have gotten so lost in the sauce I forget to save until now something simple as reminders to save would be great for the amazing world that is built in persona and I am working to get my progress back I enjoy the game too much to just not play over a simple mistake

It'd also benefit from correctly saving resolution settings, so you don't have to do that every time you start the game :)

I believe that autosave cause these issues to exist they make you lazy they make you forgetful they make you so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ entitled when you don't have it you flip your ♥♥♥♥

however and middle compromise too this is when the game asks if you would like to save it reminds people that like yourself who have a hard time doing basic tasks like saving that you can indeed save

again as I stated before I have played plenty of other games with only manual saving persona is the first where I have genuinely gotten lost in the content and forgot to save for an extended period of time and i'm not saying it needs to like hold your hand and tell you to save just something simple like maybe in the corner it says something along the lines "you have not saved since 7/27" and have it fade away after a few seconds and the whole reason i'm even talking about this is literally just so people don't do what i did and just throwing out ideas that could improve the game for people not because I feel entitled I enjoy the game and wanted to share my experience with other and talk about ideas that might improve the game and help prevent a mistake like mine from happening because its a huge bummer to lose progress in video games

Sounds like you just need to remind yourself to take breaks and save the game regularly. I make it a habit to save the game every day.

If you didnt save for hours and lost progress thats all on you. At a certain point you gotta stop asking the game to do everything for you. It already reminds you constantly to save and throws save points on every single level of every single palace. Ontop of that you can save at anytime in the real world. As for the game closing on you, thats due to your steam update settings which are something you set. Personal responsibility man.

I said I play on console I save regularly this was an instance where wasn't really thinking about saving and I know that's my mistake and i'm not asking the game to do everything for me just sharing my experience and talking about ideas that might be good inclusions like for example the game saving after a palace or simple quality of life things also I don't really see it reminding you to save like at all except for when you first start the game but also this was a point where i spent a month just in the normal world talking to people leveling their confidants for like an in game month so save rooms weren't really there and my steam setting don't apply here since i'm playing on console steam is just a much better place to discuss rather then console
