Steam Deck

Dead Space shouldn't be verified
for both versions.
Remake is currently unplayable because of 100% GPU utilization from startup in main menu, no matter the settings, without anything going on visually. And it also needs virtual keyboard/touch at first startup of course, so it should be instant yellow Playable according to Valve's own conclusion for any other title.

2008 version on the other hand runs fine, but is practically unplayable with official controller layout, until right stick is set to mouse joystick at 100% sensitivity. So it should get Playable until the official layout is changed accordingly.

What is going on with EA titles on here? Why are they treated differently from other titles in the verification process?
This can only hurt trust in the Verified system in the long run.

Agreed. I reported Dead Space remake on the dedicated pinned topic a while back.
:teddy_talk: If I remember, I have all Deadspace games (including the remake) on my duck.

When I play again, I'll go through each campaign for 30 minutes and see if I have duck controller issues. I believe, all was well, but it's been a while.
I recently finished DS2008, and played all on the Deck just fine. I did have to configure the controls to take better advantage of the Deck, but the default scheme worked just fine.

Edit: I did stumble into many posts complaining about remake issues on the Deck, partly why I did not buy the remake.

Yes, 2008 is playable with default controller setup (sorry for exaggerating earlier) , but nowhere near as precise and just comfortable as simply setting right stick to joystick mouse. This controller mishap has existed since the game came out iirc.
What I'm saying is that Verified standards should apply equally to all titles alike. Otherwise it's an ambiguous system that defies the idea.
