Unable to decide between 1TB model or the 512GB model (OLED) !
I have enough money to buy 1 of them, but the debate over the screen is frying my brain. I see a minor cloudy difference that being on the 1TB model. I will use it primarily at workspace, so it's a bit well lit area. I need thoughts on this. All my monitors so far have been antiglare, never used a glossy one & had no trouble, but i do play in a dark room so any thoughts on that would be appreciate it, to help with my decision !

1st - you always could buy an anti glare screen protector for your deck and compare what do you like more. Obviously anti-glare coating has effects with color distortion and noise. I was able to see it right after I applied anti glare protector. You still have an option to remove protection and have a glossy screen again if you want.

2nd - you always could buy additional memory when you need it. It could be SD card or SSD upgrade, depends on your desire and skills with a screwdriver.

Conclusion: If you want to support Steam Deck division in Valve for their great job to deliver this amazing product, go ahead and buy 1TB, but if you want to save some bucks for yourself - buy 512gb. They both are great and you will enjoy them.

Another option would be to buy the 512 GB model and use it for a few months or a year and then swap the SSD out for a 2 TB model later, if needed.

For each person that has no problems changing the SDD, we have a message on the forum of someone who bricks their device. If the poster doesn't already know that's an option, they likely don't work on small electronics which doesn't make it a good suggestion.

Not having reflections on your screen is much better than having reflections on your screen.

More space is better than less space.

Get the 1 TB unless you can't (or don't want to) afford it.

The steam deck is a console to play indoors mostly, so i recommend the 512 model
I own the 512 oled and got a 1TB sd card to increase the storage a bit more
:Teddy_talk: I'd go 1tb OLED

Then on Amazon, 1.5 tb microsd and a 2tb ssd usb-c.

I can use a Xbox 5tb WD usb-c drive with a usb-c Y-splitter

500GB isn't enough for how big modern games are.

This is so stupid... If you will upgrade the SSD right away anyway, why bother spending more for the 1TB model, which also has the screen that washes out colors and blacks..?

Ok, then your post should be: "If you are stupid, then get the model with the most internal storage you can afford."

I prefer glossy screens.

Get the 1TB if you can afford it. Games are regularly larger than 50 GB now. Only being able to have around 10 games installed would be a pain.

Also get an Micro SD card. Put PS2 like games on the card, and higher end games on the internal drive. If you install any music or anything, put it on the card as well.

How are you liking it? Any regrets? Im worried about the light diffusion making the whole screen (1tb etched) turn hazy just in a bright room (think hospital) or on a day light car ride. Does the 1tb screen often turn foggy in normal high light conditions (not talking about a direct flashlight or light bulb)? I'm not worried about the slight, if any, pixel blurring, I'm speaking to the full haze of the light diffusion.

The glossy has sharp light reflection, but the parts of the screen not reflecting light are still perfectly dark ..
