Anyone know of a grip for large hands?
I'm having the same problem I have with other handhelds, I have big hands and can't always comfortably grip things for long before I get a pain in my hand. The solution is to usually get larger grips so my palms are able to rest further away. I've only seen a 3d printed option, but I don't have a 3d printer.

If it helps, the Satisfye grip for the Switch is fantastic for my hands.

Most people (who have never held a Deck in their life.) complain about how big the Deck is, and you're saying it's not big enough?

Sorry Andre, that's gotta be rough.[www.atlasobscura.com]

There's a number of solutions, but they all hug the Deck pretty close and don't add much in the way of mass, like this one[www.amazon.com]. Or the Killswitch case by DBrand[dbrand.com].

I use the Owltree protector which adds a bit of grip to the Deck but still allows it to fit in the OEM case:

I mean, I love the Satisfye grip for my Switch too, but it is not much use with a Steam Deck.

I had this problem with the Xbox and Playstation controllers. I have very large hands, (can easily palm a basketball). So holding onto tiny controllers is difficult for me and can actually become painful after a while. I commonly play with a very loose grip because of this, which makes it difficult to actuate the buttons on the bottom of the steam deck, because that requires curling my hand and fingers into an uncomfortable position on the Steam Deck.

You might consider a third party item to help you with the grip with your hand. Consider looking for steam deck accessories.

It's not so much that it's LARGE, it's that I have issues with things that don't support my palms, and keep me from going crab hand when holding something.

This is the kind of grip i'm referring to.

Yeah, I just wanted to mention it as a reference, the satisfye grip is pretty different relative to all the other switch grip solutions.

Yeah, I call it crab hands, and it causes pain along my metacarpals. The solution is something that forces my palms out so i can grip solidly without having to "float" my hands.

If you don't have luck finding a grip, you might consider approaching the problem from the other direction and getting a pair of compression gloves: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZO4WW7Q

As somebody who also has large hands and has had pain holding small controllers for long periods of time, they've helped me quite a bit.

You can wrap palm wrests with hockey tape.

Also you can get a silicone case off ebay for $10-20 and joystick caps that make them like an inch taller for like $10 more.

Possible to combine the two by wrapping palm wrests with hockey tape and then cutting up a silicone case so the palm wrests just cover the hockey tape.

The sticks aren't the issue, it's specifically the d-pad and button pad are too close to the outer edge of the device. A silicon case only adds a few millimeters to the case, and I need a decently sized palm rest so that my thumb doesn't have to twist back towards my knuckles to hit the buttons. Not sure what you are referring to with the tape.

+1. My hands are large enough that even the dual shock 4 controller is too small, and the xbox one controller was the one that stopped my hand from cramping. I didn't want to get the Switch because it looks terrible ergonomically, and expected the Steam Deck to be comfortable to hold. Turns out the grip didn't fit quite right in my palm, and I got cramps playing rhythm games. Would love to buy 2 extra grips to play comfortably. I need some extra support either on the side or under the handles.

Folks, try the link I provided above. Price drop on it right now for $7.

How much thicker is the grip with the case? Would be cool if it's around 2 cm thicker than the default.

2cm is quite a lot for something like this... I did a quick measure of mine but the protective case is not exactly uniform in all areas. I measure 3 mm for thickness.

The market right now wants cases that fit over the Steam Deck but still fit in the OEM carrying case. Anything much larger than 3-5mm (which obviously doubles when you add 3-5mm on each side) will make it not fit in the OEM carrying case. At $7, it's hard not to try it and see if it helps.
