Is Bone-Sawblade the “best” normal weapon?

It probably isn’t but I can’t help gravitating towards it in the end, no matter the build. It has decent damage and above all, a good reach. As scaling is attached to the handle and not the blade, it works well with most builds.

I love it, it looks awesome and I think the devs knew it, too. My favourite handle is the exploding pick handle...It's R1->R2->R2 just comes out so quick and is like a mini berserk slam.

Not sure if "the best", but I definitely agree that it is an all-round sound blade. It does good damage, has excellent reach on any handle and has a 70% block to boot.
I tend to prefer its hotter counterpart, the blacksteel cutter, mainly because I love to put things on fire, but the sawblade is definitely excellent.

It has great damage and fantastic guard, however I will always remain bias towards the Tyrant's Murderers Dagger since it's so fast. When paired with the crit+ amulet and Victor's amulet, it's incredible. Terrible guard though.

yeah, it's completely busted if you put it on any fast handle.

Tyrant Murderer's Dagger is an IMMENSE tradeoff on that block. A weapon that can safely block is a big help against a lot of... well, block approved bosses (You can't block King of Puppets, for instance. His whole fight is to remind you that this isn't Sekiro.). Now that tradeoff comes with immense benefits and it is a great weapon (I will be taking it to the end credits), but you are definitely playing a different game picking that over something like rapier handle+greatsword blade. I think that variety is an immense benefit to the game though, but it makes "best weapon" discussions harder as a result.

If I do a less dex focused run I will definitely be trying some more of these weapons. Honestly, given the way the game keeps scaling tuned down fairly tight maybe monomaniacal focus on attack stat scaling isn't even the best way to play. But that's for a second run for me to experiment.
