I play solo and I wonder should I even try hard mode?

I've been playing hardmode. I don't believe it increases drop rates or provides additional drops like Terraria so it just depends on it you find the other difficulties boring or not. :)

Since the early start to v.1.0 i started a Hard world, not hardcore, thankfully, I've died lots. lol.

Playing a summoner, nothing has been impossible so far.

edit: Hard difficulty should improve RnG drops. I can't compare what I've seen so far to a Normal world ... but I can say I had no problems early game scrapping loot I dont need for resources instead of needing to go out and find them.

I've been fine in hard mode playing solo. I've died a few times because some of the big enemies can easily one hit you but I find it a lot more interesting.
When you reach the late-game biomes most regular mobs either 2-shots you or 1-shot you at 500hp. Meanwhile enemies seem to have about 4000-7000 hp.

So high movement speed and a dodge 90% set for combat is pretty much mandatory.
Ranged damage and/or summons.
Some bosses will be obscenely difficult, while others will be a cakewalk.

A side note, I've got over 900 HP by the time I reached the sand titan.
Hard mode makes everything more difficult, but the only rewards is double drops from bosses.

I've done a hard run, sometimes the extra challenge is fun, other times it just sucks.
