And you can make this decision for me based on?
Thanks. I just bought the game last week. I totally know the optimal killbox for every level.
Plus, there are definitely traps that work great for the first twenty or so levels but give you diminishing returns around round 30. Anything with a long trigger time, for example, and the super-speed orcs can just run over it without taking any damage while the spike traps and dart spinners harmlessly trigger behind them. It would really be nice to be able to optimize as the game goes on.
Also, my dude, what does it really hurt to add in a breather break every five/seven levels? I know there are some aspects of the game with difficult coding limits and other technical magic (war scenarios not having endless, for one,) but this seems like a super easy fix with zero real negative or technical repercussions...
Other than that, you just have to work with the time. The game goes into rift lord mode around wave 15, from that point on, let your last enemies linger and be in position to rearrange any traps you need to. Ideally you learn a set up that works for you so you dont have to adjust though.
