Transfer Save Game from Steam to GOG
Hi! I am enjoying the game so far as a longtime JSRF fan.
I bought the game and played a bit on Steam, but will likely switch to the GOG version (I only realized it released there after I had already played on the Steam version). Is there a way to transfer my progress between the two versions so I don't have to start over again?
Thanks!

I will refund the steam version and only use the GOG version.

The save files from one version can be copied over to another.

But that other game needs to already have a file for the respective slot generated.
(meaning you need to start a new slot to have a GameProgress0.brp file to overwrite)

Oh yeah and about the file locations:

Steam is in
..\Steam\userdata\..\1353230\remote

And GOG is probably in
%AppData%..\LocalLow\Team Reptile\Bomb Rush Cyberfunk\SaveData

That is super helpful! I was getting worried when I did not see my steam save in my GOG version, but I did not start the game yet. So I will start a new save slot to have it be overwritten. Thanks for the quick reply!
EDIT: It worked like a charm, thanks again!

Well, there are two things you can try.

First, just install and launch the GOG version. A lot of games store their save and configuration files in the same place across different storefronts, meaning the save transfers on its own, so to speak. If this doesn't happen, it's a question of finding the save file and copying it to where the GOG version stores them.

In that second case, I'd start looking for the save files in the AppData folders. Most games nowadays place a lot of settings-related files in Local or even LocalLow, with some rare exceptions found in Roaming. If they're not there, they're either in My Documents or the game's install directory.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
