So what's the point of scores with combos?

Watched a 75 minute game play video seemed like awful JSRF with no skill tagging, no time limits just milktose platforming. Doing stunts and getting a score seems to give you literally nothing and are just there as an arbitrary feel good about yourself display

Aside from Graffiti Souls, was there much point in combos in the original JSRF?

This game is satisfying to play and my primitive monkey brain goes "ook ook" when I see the small number go up and become a big number. Being a neanderthal who lives in a cave, that's about all the reason I need. Cavepeople represent.

Higher scores give you more boost per trick, which is useful for traversal even when not doing crew battles
