Bugs aside, I've been greatly enjoying the update, though I do think the payout for Cyber Material could stand to be a little higher.

With regards to player-vs-player battles, there's two things I'd like to see: An option to toggle overspill damage and a way to select the music track for the battle (ideally, every player would be able to pick independently) - perhaps only from songs that the save file has heard before as well.

Fusing in co-op battles may also be worth considering; to lean into the narrative theme of fusion requiring the two partners' minds needing to operate on the same wavelength, I propose that both players get to select a move, but if they don't pick the same one, it has a 50% chance to pick either one to encourage communication and cooperation.

Cyber Material and its usage seem interesting enough, but the payout is rather low, perhaps it could be adjusted upwards or the requirement lowered?

I'd also like to see a way to trade stickers directly as opposed to having to trade tapes containing the stickers.

Perhaps also 2v2 battles, if that's not a thing yet.

More relevantly, players should receive status icons over their heads to indicate whether they're in battle, in a cutscene, camping or in general dialogue/in their menus to aid coordination!

Just some thoughts - netcode is hard, congrats on making it work, Bytten <3

I love this multiplayer update. Bootleg hunting with a buddy is amazing.

I wish there was a way to get the vocal tracks in combat when doing Rogue Fusions.

I spent some time doing raids earlier today, and did some PvP matches.

Raids are obviously a fun feature, but they feel distinctly underwhelming. Cyber Materials have a single function, being to allow you to get a specific bootleg easier, but you need a LOT. You get enough for a single bootleg after 20 fights. I think this wouldn't be as much of an issue if they didn't /replace/ fused materials. The overall reward for raids isn't satisfying compared to what you lose out on. You can't use items, you can't fuse, if even one player dies you both lose, all for a reward that's pretty underwhelming. If I was still making progress towards Ranger Noticeboard levels, and earning resources towards the permanent upgrades. It stops feeling like you're making forward progress, and almost exclusively sideways progress.

As for PvP matches, disabling overspill is definitely an option we need, as well as 2v2 options, but in addition, unless my opponent was forfeiting as soon as I defeated their main player, having the option to require BOTH opponents downed would be nice. It kinda sucks to get a lucky hit and end the battle before either player can use most of their monsters.

NOTE: When you back your save up, ensure you place the backup in a DIFFERENT folder or potentially with a DIFFERENT folder name.

I backed up my save folder to the same parent folder, and assumed a "- copy" would keep it save but for some reason BOTH folder save files were updated when I saved/erased saves in the beta.
Restoring from beta and bringing the backup save back resulted in all changes having been made also to this save. I have both folders, the new and backup still.

!!===Edit: Turn off cloud save as well in the properties! When we restored from backup, this might have been what screwed us.===!!

I do not understand how that is possible, but we've lost our save over multiple days of playing due to not having knowing we needed to take these precautions! I think... we might give this game a break as a result.

You can trade tapes (and stickers, by extension) and co-op for Rogue Fusion encounters (as well as Fusion Swarms and Orbs). PVP is also an option.

You can currently *not* fight Archangels or Ranger Captains together. Or at least, last time I checked.

Don't make it just PVP please.
I wanna play coop story mode with my friends.

Maybe if someone gets into a fight then we can press a button on your gamepad to join the fight as they have to load us in... Make us fuse together and stuff like that, make combos together~!

Be prepared to change your character as you get into a fight, make it so that once we get into a fight we can choose our cassettes that we are using so we can make synergies~!

Without showing the enemy of course so we can't counter them.
I downloaded the beta and made a new save, but when I went to play online, my only options were play with friends, start/join invite-only session, and host/join a LAN session, and it says "Currently offline." Is there something else I need to enable, or am I just dumb and there's no jumping online and joining a session in progress? I don't have any friends that play Cassette Beasts on Steam :(

Devs need to update the Steam store to indicate that this is ONLINE multiplayer and not shared screen. I own the game, and was so confused that this says multiplayer... and it says shared screen.
AcidSweat 23. maj kl. 5:52
I don't own the game yet. But if there's no online co-op mode there won't be any reason for my friends to buy the game. I'll just play the game solo.
Malokenic 28. maj kl. 20:33
Not being able to fight with your friend in story mode is a waste of potential. The framework for battling co-op is there with the local co-op. Just have the friend replace the companion in the fight while the companion is there for story purposes. Being restricted to just rogue fusions is stupid and lazy when this update could've been so much better.
I'm really happy to be able to pla7y this remotely with friends, but not being able to have them as my partner or fuse with them puts a major damper on things tbh. I love this game though
Kayarie 3. juni kl. 21:07
Picked this game up for my partner and I to cozy game together. Didn't realize the multiplayer function was so new! That being said we've been really enjoying the game and being able to see eachother time and again on the map is fun and makes the world feel more lively, We can do our own things, and meet up for fusion fights for some fun battles and recording. Looking forward to exploring more soon! <3

PS. I am greedy for more cosmetics! XD
