Hi folks, a few people have reported issues in Cassette Beasts. We’re currently working on a patch to address these known issues.

Firstly, if you’ve had trouble unlocking local co-op, you first need to unlock Kayleigh as a partner - which is two minutes into the tutorial. The very start of the game has to be played single-player; after that you can play the whole thing co-op!

Secondly, if you encounter a black screen when booting the game, it may be related to your video card drivers. Please make sure to update them! Another thing you can try is pressing F11 to exit fullscreen mode. Sometimes that is enough to fix the issue and you can press F11 to enter fullscreen again. If not, enter the settings menu to increase the window resolution to match your screen resolution and the game will enter borderless windowed mode!

A few more items we know about:

• The quantity selection dialog in the merchant interface can lose focus if the up button is held while choosing how many of an item to buy.
  
• Crash while roaming the overworld. This occurs after many hours of playing, and only seems to affect a few players.
  
• Physics can behave weirdly sometimes.
  
• Audio devices in mono mode cause distorted music sound effects.

The following issues are also known now but weren't at the time of translation:

• Softlocks in Glowcester Road Station and the shipwreck. While we patch this, you can fix your save file by following the instructions here: https://wiki.cassettebeasts.com/wiki/Cheats#Escaping_softlock
  
• Miss Mimic Fusions consume ritual candles but are unaffected by them
  
• If an Abramacabra Wall is hit with a glitter attack it changes type permanently (affecting even following battles)
  
• Monsters stop spawning if you are defeated by Ianthe until you quit and reload the game

I'm having trouble finding Clee-Os coin to activate her, the associated quest points NW of the main town but there's nothing there.

Check if the monster is with your old partner. They tend to hold onto them.

I just can't get the game to launch at all since the update earlier today. It opens to the the loading screen, bar fills almost to the end and then just crashes. Worked fine earlier today so I'm not entirely sure what is going on. I've updated drivers since it's a new computer so I don't think that is the issue.

Edit:Issue resolved, was in fact another graphics card update.

Other side note. Do remasters not count towards having obtained in the bestiary? If so then I suppose I should be catching these remasters I'm coming across in the world. Great game though and I'm enjoying the ride thoroughly.

I'm having trouble launching this game on my Steam Deck despite its "Verified" status. On my desktop PC & laptop, it's smooth sailing/no issues, but I can't even get to the menu screen on Steam Deck. I see the Cassette Beasts art when you open the game, but that's all I see, no progress after that. I've tried Proton 7, Proton 8, Proton Expiremental, Proton GE, verifying game files, an entire re-install of the game & the game will just never get to the menu. It's unfortunate because I was looking forward to play this on the Steam Deck the most, but it's the only place it doesn't work for me. I wonder if I'm the only one or if others have this problem as well, but I hope it gets sorted out in a patch.

EDIT: I found my temporary, but not ideal solution. Desktop mode + fullscreen. It works as if I was in the default game mode for SteamOS, but it's not exactly ideal. Still, it works for the meantime, but I hope for a fix.

Already sent a bug report about this, but I'll put it here too for posterity's sake:

Eugene's Quest has a game-breaking bug. While trying to enter Landkeeper office #3, I noticed I couldn't open the top window at all. I tried to open #2 instead, didn't work either. Turns out the key has somehow gone missing from my inventory and I cannot proceed with the quest now.

Loving the game so far! The only issues that I've encountered thus far have concerned playing with controllers on the Steam Deck. These are potentially issues with sleep mode, as I've only run into these after waking the Deck from sleep:

1) Constant rumble after running/flying/using stamina. I was able to turn off the controller rumble in the settings menu.

2) No controllers working upon waking from sleep, including the built-in Steam Deck controls. I was able to solve this by using the Deck trackpad and a Bluetooth keyboard.

I also have a quick suggestion/request for the settings: would it be possible to have an option to speed up the battle animations?

Did the skill named "miscellaneous" have something bug? The skill entries are as follows,I have never triggered a combo since dozens of critical strikes or maybe the entry is incorrect?

Today earlier it was ok, played it without problems. Some hours later the Game always crash at the Raw Fury Logo at Start.
Reinstall no help, everything is updated.
Nothing changed in the PC.

the Skill is called "Critical Mass", and the skill is a "Miscellaneous" type that's not Melee/Ranged Attack or Status Effect.
Anyway, have you tried to put "Critical Mass" directly above the skill you want to combo in the move list? the wording seems that way. right now the only skill that's "next" to critical mass is pity AP.
I tried with "Smack"(crit on type advantage), and it works for me.
