Multiplayer / co-op items, equipment and progression

I just 100%d the game and have all upgrades for my character. Bought the game for my wife and she's played a couple dozen hours. Tried multiplayer by joining her game and my character is completely naked? No equipment, no items. Do I have to craft them at her base now? And I will lose them once that session ends, right?

Is there a way to bring your own equipment from your saved games on another player's world?

Each save is completely separate. Blueprints are tracked per save, and shared across players in the save, so you can craft and equip any items that are unlocked on that save. The game will keep track of any items you had equipped when you quit, and you will still have them when you next join that save.
