A Juggler's Tale is a story-centric platformer and puzzle game centered around a puppet girl who seeks freedom.

Decent music and graphics are ok, but characters could use some polishing up, even as wooden puppet characters. Backgrounds and scenarios are definitely more pleasant to look at than the main characters.

While the game plays as a sidescrolling platformer, and there are obstacles to avoid or bypass, the game is more akin a puzzle game in that it requires solving of multiple puzzles along the way. Infinite lives and frequent chapter checkpoints that can be loaded at any time once unlocked, make it for a rather relaxing gameplay.

Puzzles are not too hard to figure out though there are little to nothing in the way of hints, so it does require some thinking and/or trial and error - not bad for those seeking a challenge, or might frustrate those who expect a more streamlined experience.

The story is by far the best aspect of the game. It is enthralling and charming, and accompanied with well voiced and scripted narration, even if he can get a little on the nerves at later stages of the game, as his demeanor changes as the story progresses.

There are some issues with clipping and stuckage that require restarting.

For achievement hunters, 100% is very easy to get.

Alas, the price is very steep for what it offers, given how short the game - a couple of hours - is and the lack of replayability once completed. I do recommend waiting for a sale. 6/10

Boring and unintuitive. The game is about 90% frustration trying to predict what it wants you to do next, making it a puzzler in a perverse sort of way. Most of the remaining 10% is the artsy package it's wrapped in that I don't care for either, but that's just for me.

If you are playing this and are experiencing this frustration, the answer is usually that there's an unclued item in the background that you're supposed to interact with.

Very cool story. Would heavily recommend.
