And many of the same folks who will go full Chernobyl over said award will have previously decried the awards as "political/fixed/meaningless," unless, of course, their preferred title wins.
They're industry awards; of course they are "political" in the sense of office/industry politics (rather than national/local). They're inherently meaningless because an industry award is just artificial glad-handing that has no bearing on the quality of any game, whether it wins or not.
I feel like this whole process is just the gamer equivalent of music malding for hipsters desperate to burnish their aural cred by announcing they listen to acts that aren't mainstream--because, as we know, nothing is any good if other people like it.
So.....Do you think im going to care about the extremly respectable opinion of some dude from Pride.Com (LOL.....) or Rolling Stone? ♥♥♥♥ that.......I will admit that the jury from outlets outside North America looks way better since they all are real gaming media.
As said countless times during last days i will watch it just for the new games announcements! Im blessed enough to have nearly all the nominees in my library (Indika, Hellblade 2 and Helldivers are nominees and thats ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AWESOME and fair) so i hope some of the indie treasures get "love" and a well deserved public recognition.
Daddy Alby making it rain on dem boys.
