Life experience, PvP, challenge runs, and watching more experienced people play really helped me through Souls early on. Also getting out of parents' house is key. I wound up back due to their age but independence and struggling in the real world will put a video game in perspective quite well. If you're barely winning that struggle, antagonistic games could either help you as a form of therapy, if you let it, or it will be an excuse to push yourself across a line.

I still get frustrated when I die one time too often but that just never made me smash my controller or fist the drywall.

But there is just something about these kind of games that makes the frustration worth it, in the end.
You struggle countless times, only to eventually learn to dance better than some of the bosses. And the feeling of defeating them is priceless.

working for dopamine is better than just getting it

If one sets an unrealistic condition for a reward structure or coping mechanism, things are likely to fall apart quickly.

Let's just say there are far more difficult games that make Elden Ring pale in comparison and not worth spending one's Angy Fuel on.

You could be playing a MOBA instead *gasp* or a game that manipulates the outcomes of your matches to be even-ratio, resulting in as much loss as victory. Guaranteed negative outcomes are awful.

Don't play Call of Duty. At least not right now, not as it is. That's having a very clear negative psychological impact on a lot of the people playing it.

The older you get, the less you give a ♥♥♥♥ lol. Now I just quit the game if I get mad and turn it back on later.
there are a lot of things in real life that fully deserve getting angry about, to the point i kinda need to tranqulize myself by suppressing to think about them to stay functional (which is a sad solution if any)

Getting angry about any video game would be insanity in context.
Being unhappy to some degree, sure, angry, no.

This game helps me cope with difficulties irl. Dont stop till you get it but dont repeat the same mistakes, keep adapting.

Weirdly, ER never made me rage because I was expecting enemies/bosses to be cheap. When I had enough I just used Cheat Engine to raise my stats to 90 and had a very fun satisfying experience. :)

There is no need to rage if you carefully plan your every playthrough to be 100% focussed on fun and enjoyment. Even the first playthrough can work this way.
My own first playthrough just consisted of me spamming two Flamberges with Lions Claw at everything that moved, later on adding the mimic tear. Great fun, i can recommend trying it for yourself if you feel like it!
