Elden Ring DLC
I played this game for 600 hours, so i know pretty much about it. But i never played the previous souls games.

Most of us are waiting for the Elden Ring DLC myself included, but i don't know what to expect from a fromsoftware DLC.

Can anybody enlighten me with what should i expect from the Shadow Of the Erdtree?
We can also just talk and discuss our own expectations and guesses, no need to be too serious about it. Thanks in advance.

DLC in souls games has always introduced entirely new areas. These areas have their own questlines and bosses and etc. Basically an expansion of the game.
Usually these DLC's are side plots, they don't have any real bearing on the main story of the game. Given that the title of Elden Ring's DLC is "Shadow of the Erdtree" though, its story might instead by an epilogue to the main game. Who knows.

The DLC areas are accessed somewhere in world. In Dark Souls 1 it was a bit convoluted whereas in Dark Souls 3 it's impossible to miss it. They also appear somewhere in the middle of the game usually.
I am assuming we will access Elden Ring's DLC somewhere in the end game

Hard to say just based on the size of this game but from previous games:

Brand new areas to explore, which are also fairly big.

New armor, spells and weapons (often pretty cool ones)

New bosses, which have a tendency of being among the best in the series, such has Artorias from DS1 or Gael from DS3.

We could also get new vendors and quests.

DS3 also added a PVP boss

You can expect your question to be posted another few dozen times as we all have speculation but nothing solid to back up our predictions.

It may allude to an outer god's role in this setting. What is casting light on the Erdtree, which itself is brilliantly radiant, to create its shadow?

Knowing the Moon is directly linked to Ranni, shouldn't there be a Sun deity? We do have day/night... and knowing Miyazaki, this "shadow" is probably a manifestation of some kind serving as a climactic battle.

Any word on when this DLC is expected to launch? I already played this game 400+ hours and want to play again but burned out. Saving more of the play for DLC, however, I am, getting the itch to play this game.

Lots speculate it'll come out on the anniversary, or at least get news about it.

Unlikely, all previous games allowed you to access the DLC with an existing character.

Since elden ring is the first open world from fromsoft it could be anything... New areas in the world, new areas in a seperated world...

Everything is kinda possible

Any concerns about balance? i'm on ng+12 or smth and have concerns that it might be too difficult or different then what it should be. Maybe starting a new character would be better? And i'm also curious about if it'll be as big as the main game?

DLC areas typically are more challenging than the base game.
It won't be as big, hopefully it might be a third of the size of the world map.

DLCs in past souls games most notably added bosses, on a whole different level. In DSR (or DS1) Artorias and Kalameet, don't know about DS2 and in DS3 almost every DLC boss is great (♥♥♥♥ gravetender though).

I hope this trend continues in this game as well.

Yeah, I'd say DS2 fits as well.

I heared somewhere that it's gonna be a lot like Bloodborne's DLC, so this makes me believe that we are going to visit places we've already been before but in the past, or some alternate / dream-like version of them.
