Tarnished, What is thy name?

Basically, I'd like to hear what thoughts come to mind when naming your characters be it the very first run or the 2nd, 3rd or whatever. Think of the silliest name, a deep meaning, or just randomness? Is there some thought put into your name on your play-through? If you feel like sharing said tales, please let us all know here!

I'll begin, my best play-through so far I take a name from Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail. I named my character Sir Robin because I figured I'd be spending most of my time running away (bravely) until I got strong enough to fight my enemies.

In all the Souls games--from Demon's Souls to Elden Ring--I always create the exact same character, named Valis. He's basically a cosplay of the protagonist from a novel I've been writing for about seven-ish years.

Unimportant, but his name means "bear," and his family call him "The Bear." It's from a made-up language that I've been working on alongside the novel.

I always use the same names and Lilith is always the first character.

I usually just come up with names that fit the general idea of the character, a mage, a faith user, str, etc.

But common names i use would be Nana and Charlotte, since i like both names.

For males it would be Stark and Rockwell.

i use my steam name for every character unless you can't change the name.

I use 'lore friendly' names for my characters. Adhering to the naming conventions used by NPC's. Most characters have their profession listed before their name or in some way otherwise stated when you examine their icon on the overworld map. Rya the Scout, Recusant Bernahl, Scribe Coryhn, Boc the Seamster, and Yura Hunter of Blood Fingers. To give some examples.

As such, my characters are named things like: Spellblade Ozoz, Paladin Ozzo, Demi-Human Taws, and Heretic Zooz.

It's usually a short name followed by some kind of roleplay/lore description (e.g. Cir, Jar Warrior).
The name is put in front of the description, so whenever I get summoned for coop or invade someone, the displayed title is properly aligned with the rest of the name.
So it would be (invaded by) Recusant/summoned Furled Finger Cir, Jar Warrior.

Skies of Arcadia, on the Dreamcast, was one of my favorite games growing up. Name all my characters after ones from that game.

Dress up like one of the soldiers in Stormveil (and invade there exclusively). Blend in with one of the crowds, then as soon as the host and co enter the room and start waking everything up: Dragonfire. They never see it coming.

I make up a whole cahracter in my mind before creating it in the game, the names tend to be quite usual, according to the background I gave them. Here are some examples:

-Ashair, the fire cleric, member of the flame monks who started his own path.
-Aquilla Corrigan, a former Leyndell knigh who became vagabond to earn the golden grace
-Ral, one of the executioners who made justice fall on the Dungeater, now whith his soul defiled
-Alora Steeltear, a silver tear from the underground reign who adopted human form and traveled to surface, called to mix her silver with the gold of the grace
-Mama Ngani, a necromancer seeking to restore Godwyn's place as first of the dead demigods.
-Shinzaemon, a samurai wanting to master the power of ancient dragons and their lightninghs

I name my character after the deutaroginist of the novel I've been working on for dog's years, and will almost certainly never publish (partially because I know it's garbage, and partially because I'm afraid of having a publisher confirm that belief).
