Lore-wise, who is the most evil character ?

Personally, I hesitate between Rykard and Mohg

For me, Mohg is too obvious, same with dung eater. I'm going to mention Seluvis, or possibly Pidia. Normally, walking in on someone getting murdered by a bunch of puppets would be chilling, but because of who it is, I find it hilarious.

Ranni. She's responsible for the entire mess that you, as the player, have to deal with. She is absolutely ruthless, single minded to the point of obsession, uses her people with no thought for their welfare, and she will turn on you the moment you deviate even slightly from following her orders.

Um... you mean how she didnt wanted to be a puppet of the Two Fingers?

And we all know how awful Marika and the Golden Order were, constantly meddling with the Lands Between.

And she does care for those that follow her, she straight up mentions how Blaidd and Iji are fully aware of what could happen and are still willing to sacrifice everything for her, and even calling them kind hearted, which actually causes her to be embarrassed and ask you to forget she said that.

And she only really turns hostile if you betray her by either attacking her or siding with Seluvis which wanted to turn her into his puppet.

Her true intentions ultimately show that she wants the world and the people in it, to be free and have control over their own emotions and decisions, rather than being controlled by the Outer Gods like the Greater Will did trough Marika and the Golden Order.

Melina :Spoilers and Theories Ahead

Melina. We know hardly anything about her. She never lets any other npc see her Boc being the exception, why does she hide herself from others. She has a similar face to Ranni's doll form. which is based on an old crone or snow witch.

-Influences the Tarnished to hunt and kill the Demigods with vague requests. "Take me to the foot of the Erdtree". Yet we can't enter the capital without Great Runes and a "maiden".
"Then take me to the Mountain Tops of Giants for fire to burn the tree".

-Commits a Cardinal Sin
-Disappears after burning (people think she dies) I don't as when the Tarnished burns with frenzy into the forge they survive, not to mention Melina doesn't act as if she is suffering during the burning cutscene.

-Knows words of Marika, for specific locations, how can Melina know these unless she was a major character privy to all these events and locations?

-Also has access to the Rold medallion, which is the only way to enter the mountaintops, why does she have posses the key? Did she steal it, was it given to her to lock away the Forbidden Lands? Etc.?

Furthermore if the Tarnished is Lord of Frenzy for the ending, she threatens to deliver us our destined death. How and why does she think she is powerful enough to take on the Lord of Frenzy let alone someone powerful enough to kill a god. Unless she has been keeping something from us like her true power, potential, and motives.

Melina has way to many secrets, makes me think that she is in hiding for her prior deeds which are unknown to us. Maybe her mortal body burned at the foot of the Erdtree, during the same event which left leftover ash in the normal capital prior to our tree burning?

Plus look at how giddy he gets when he talks about cursing people, "And their children. And their childrens children". The dude straight up gets off on the thought of being the most vile thing in existence.

Yep, people usually have to go through some messed up stuff to become the abovementioned psychopaths.

Stills psychopaths in the end, still doing no one any good. Even if its the sort of character with a tragic past, they are the ones in control here and now, everything they do is on them, not anyone else.

That's difficult but I'm going to say Mohg with Rykard in a close second. Mohg's the scheming of Pontiff Sulyvahn and Both have the faction of Darkstalker Kaathe. I don't really need to elaborate as these are pretty much the most evil characters in their respective games.

Pidia/Selivus: It's heavily implied that Selivus is Pidia's puppet (if not, conspiring with each other). The character is actively going behind Ranni's back and isn't straightforward with you. The potion and turning Nepheli Loux into a puppet is more of a test of loyalty and his goal is to ultimately turn Ranni into a puppet. I'm unsure if her being an empyrean is known to Selivus (or Pidia), but this is very similar to Mohg's scheme with forcing Miquella to be his consort. The only difference is that Seluvis/Pidia don't also lead the Darkwraiths.

Dung Boy: I struggle to say Dung Eater is /as/ evil, he's likely an omen and a very troubled one at that. He's insane, but I think he does what he does to enact a sense of purpose (albeit a cruel one). He does wallow and turns domesticated after you defeat him, calling you "him" and he the "dung eater", relinquishing his responsibility and putting it on you. That's how I interpret that exchange, at least.

Shabriri: I can't say we know enough about Shabriri. he steals bodies and inherits the Frenzied Flame. Currently, I think that's like saying Hyetta is evil for following through with inheriting the Frenzied Flame. The difference between Shabriri and Dung Eater compared to Seluvis is that the former act more like forces of nature, whereas the latter is needlessly cruel for power.

Melania: I think she takes being a sore loser to a whole other level with how she won against Radahn and turned Caelid into a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. She is the stereotype of nobility. Not "evil", but arguably the most selfish character in the game.
