Thematically though - there are some options. For Ranni, I would see it being encapsulated in the past as a "Going to the Academy in it's prime" sorta deal, where you meet stupidly powerful wizards and stuff and just expound on the lore with the magic and character relationships. Maybe they finish off with a new Renalla fight that is actually stupidly tough and you beat her so bad it explains her weaker self in the "present day".
Miquella and Mohg would be interesting - maybe some tie-ins with St.Trina also being abused or betrayed by Mohg or something and ends up being why Miquella is asleep (got hit with some crazy Sleeping Beauty style ♥♥♥♥).
I would also be interested in Marika being in a DLC - though I think it wouldn't end with you fighting her unless:
- It is the last DLC
and
- It introduces the next potential threat sorta (assuming they continue the series).
So like - I could see it being Marika attacking the Giants, and maybe you can pick a side; but fighting Marika would result in an Outer God stopping the fight to protect the time-stream. Maybe another Elden Beast or a personification of the "Greater Will". Otherwise, I would imagine it being her making you basically extinct the Giants.
Besides Malenia might be a bit of a brocon... cant blame her based on all he did for her, but her opinion on him could easily be biased.
And to be honest I don't mind seeing "snapshots" of the past, but I'd rather not see a prequel level DLC, because seeing predestined failures isn't as interesting as seeing something new.
Its really rare, hell even in some cases its rare to find female enemies.
Have you ever seen a western developer dress a young girl in some of the outfits these Japanese developers put onto their young girl characters? Yet its a common occurrence when it comes to JRPG's
And hypocrites specially.
