Where did yall go after beating Godrick?

So, I keep getting turned around in the swamps (Can't seem to find the map).. there IS a path to the castle right? I went exploring over at the Liurnia highways/east raya lucaria gate but I can't go through the gate yet. I ran into the same problem when I transported to the South Raya Lucaria Gate.

Should I be trying to get to that big castle, or academy whatever it is, or should I try getting to the volcano place after the chick gives me the invitation? I know there is probably no right or wrong way I am just wondering whats best to do first.

Regarding your issues with a map, check closely on the unrevealed parts of the map. Along whichever roads you have uncovered, you should see a little symbol. Head to that and you will find your map.

As to where I went, after clearing the swamp I went to the academy. Like Hmm said, it's an insanely easy boss and the dungeon is enjoyable to explore. As for getting in, you're missing a key that's located north west of the academys main structure in a cluster of rocks which you can easily identify on the map, assuming you have that one. A dragon is guarding it, but you can sneak around behind him and grab it.

Liurnia and Raya. Clear out Liurnia, finishing with Caria Manor, and then do Radahn before taking the lift/tunnel to Altus.

I hope you realize the game tells you where the maps are...... look more closely at your map. Notice the tiny stone pillars? That is where the maps are almost all of the time until you hit mid game areas. They are also usually located directly on a road.

Volcano Manor is mid/late game area. If you go there now you will get curb stomped.

go wherever the hell you want. game is mostly open world. there is no fixed path to follow. thankfully.

You need an item to get into either of the two gates. You should have found a helpful map right at one of the two gates (the southern one I think) whose description explains what you need to get in.

Thanks, its super frustrating because I just got the west liurnia map so I can see the west and up pretty far north of it, I have the east because that whole region i can also see, but I have this big blacked out body of water and I swear I found it. I am searching for the symbol you're referring to but unless its hidden behind the broilprawn shack....

edit as im writing this: holy s*** it was literally right next to academy gate town spawn LOL. Wow I can't believe I missed that.

The logical order of exploration would be
Limgrave+Weeping Peninsula
Liurnia
Caelid

Stick Siofra River in here before or after Liurnia I guess

If you do Ranni's quest (starting in Liurnia) before getting to Altus Plateau, you will be very overpowered up untill the very endgame zones.

My first days in caelid was riding around everywhere trying not to get killed by a dragon or a giant hyena, or gravity...trying to find as many items as possible lol

if you're a caster definitely focus on Liurnia, if you're melee go for Caelid.
or do both. lots of important items in both zones.

Caelid does have the best int caster staff for early-mid game aswell
