What the hell is that giant face corpse under stormveil castle?
The one you can see after fighting the lesser ulcerated tree spirit. Its clearly a giant face, you can see the nose holes, and eyes, or what's left of them, with vertical, almost reptilian looking eyelids.

But then the rest of it seems to just merge into the floor. Its odd, wtf is that?

I have to wonder how much of the exposition we've been told, or led to believe, by ingame characters is actually true or not. It really does feel like the tarnished are being led to intentional dead ends by almost everyone, doesn't it?

And what makes them "tarnished' in the first place? Almost sounds similar to "the dishonored" or perhaps "bastard children" maybe?

Though not all tarnished even come from this land. Its implied the samurai origin comes from a completely foreign place...are we sure the writing in this game isn't just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up?
its GRRM so its totaly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and obviously over rated; like GoT
the man despair to be a JRRT but failed in everyway, he is mostly a bad drama sexual teller

In the lore, the Tarnished are people who lost the grace of the Erdtree and where banished from the lands Between, if i remember correctly

According to whom exactly? That's what we're told, but was that an NPC telling us, an item description, what?

Again with the samurai, its origin pretty much states they were a warrior from the Land of Reeds, a completely different place altogether. So how would such a person ever have had the grace from this place they've never been to before?

He is saying that tarnished lost the grace. He knows something, I have not dug too deep, idk.

But when he says that tarnished lost grace, I cannot think about the analogy with Adam losing God's grace for crossing. The Bible.

In essence humanity is in disgrace since God exiled Adam from the heavenly garden. Because Adam could not resist the temptation of his flesh and reached for the forbidden apple.

Well then, if this is the case in Elden Ring, is it the fault of the individual, or just someone high up? Because if you look into the old testament, "the lord" is very much willing to destroy and entire country just because the ruler did something it didn't like...

From what i read in game and heard from NPCs, i believe that there are multiple other continent out there, if i remember correctly, we came from across the fog*, there is also multiple region in item description that are not part of the lands between, like the Land of Reeds, there is also the Kaiden settlement wich is presumably located in the mountaintops of the wintry north, Eochaid is also an unknown region, and there is also an unknown region where the Numens came from (Maybe Numenor......... wait... did GRRM just plagiarize JRRT ?)

(Black Knifes are rumored to be Numens- Black knife set, Queen Marka is also Numen)

Hope we will see those region in DLCs or in a future game

Edit:
* Across the fog: if you look properly, you can see a large wall of fog all around the lands between, you can also see ships or remains of ships far in the ocean, but there is no Seaport in the Lands between, they clearly came from other "country"

It's Godfrey the Golden, prince of death, the soulless demigod.
I mean, if that's the case, then What's up with the other Godwyn corpse at the end of Deeproot Depths? They can't both be Godwyn, can they?
i think it might have something to do with how its connected to the tree roots. maybe its form spread through the roots as a curse

It's a side effect of Goodwyn's body being laid under the Erdtree.

Why it looks like a giant squid with a face is never explained.

What? Ranni is Renailla's daughter.
Renalla and Radagon, but Radagon is the male aspect of Marika; they are one and the same, so Ranni is the daughter of Marika.
Radagon and Marika became one, they didn't start that way. It seems that it would have happened after Radagon left Renailla for Marika.

Melina's speech at the Queen's Bedchamber
"Spoken echoes linger here. Words of Queen Makira, who vanished long ago. If you wish, I will share them with you.
In Marika's own words. O Radagon, leal hound of the Golden Order. Thou'rt yet to become me, thou'rt yet to become a god. Let us both be shattered, mine other half"
