No Playstation Button Prompts?

Seriously? Teetering on the fence right now about refunding before even playing. I don't own an Xbox controller and wouldn't use one if I did, but I'm not willing to slog through a game that's already difficult while being bombarded with misleading button prompts. Doubly frustrating when the consensus is that mouse and keyboard is a nightmare too. How hard is it to add button prompts for a console that has 60% of the market share? We're PC players, we are less likely to have both consoles when we've already shelled out for a gaming PC.

Give me a couple of days, community has already re-shuffled that texture to let you use PlayStation buttons, but I have to code some new stuff to inject replacement textures in D3D12.

No, I don't use Nexus Mods. Special K has its own Discord server though if you need help with this, https://discord.gg/SpecialK


The mod is available from https://sk-data.special-k.info/archive/SK_ER_DualShock4.7z


Installation requires using SKIF, a tool special built for Special K. So you'll need that, which is available from https://sk-data.special-k.info/repository/SpecialK_22.3.3.exe

Install, and replace SpecialK64.dll in Documents\My Mods\SpecialK

Think this needs to be pinned or something. Cheers to you for actually getting PS prompts into Elden Ring. It's a shame that this can't be in the form of a simple drag n drop format or from nexus vortex installer.

When our member who packs the installers wakes up, you can install SK 22.3.4.2 and then turn buttons on in-game from the control panel

The developers included Playstation button faces in Sekiro and DS3 but refused to let us use them. Not surprised they continue to be malicious in Elden Ring. They have been around for over 30 years with the overwhelming majority of their releases on the Playstation family of products yet they pull ♥♥♥♥ like this. Whoever keeps making these decisions is either being very mean or unbelievably stupid, not sure there is anything in-between that can account for lack of Playstation button prompts.

Works great thanks man. Been hoping since launch to be able to play with DS4 prompts like how I've played all other Souls games.

It is a real shame that they force us to play offline though :-\ I'd like some partial online functionality and this definitely isn't cheating. But they have to draw the line somewhere I guess.

Easy Anti-Cheat does make it more complicated the mod the game, kind of sad to see it was added.

This is a legitimate criticism that dates back to DS1, IIRC. Not sure if they fixed this for the other games.

Yeah I really like playing online just for messages. I consider the connectivity between players through messages to be an iconic part of the Souls experience and I don't know if I can give that up. Might have to just live with the Xbox button prompts after all. I really appreciate your effort thought Kaldaien
