There's at least one 30 pages long thread about this issue in here, and similar amount of complains on Reddit and such. Just gotta sit this one out until a fix is released, if it ever is.
How long does refund period last?
you can refund as long as your purchase isnt older than 14 days and you have played less than 2 hours

there is a single video on youtube that shows this white screen crash at launch problem and this is how he fixed it. i also heard that alot of people got the game running by doin this.
I suffered from the same phenomenon. But now I can play.
In my case it was due to the Epic game launcher.
I had installed it once on my PC before and stopped using it. When I started it for the first time in a while, there was a slightly longer game launcher update.
After that, when I started Elden Ring from steam normally, I could start it like your friend's house.
I thought Epic was suspicious because I saw an article that it bought easy anti cheat.
I don't know if it will be helpful because it is in my environment, but I hope it can be started.
I got a Windows update this afternoon, it took like an hour or two, but it fixed it!!!
I dont know how, but i got the feeling to try and launch the game after the update, and you can imagine how happy i was when it unexpectedly worked.
I hope everyone still experiencing this can start playing soon!

Ok, I would like to start off by saying that I run my PC with security in mind. I have Defender with all it's features enabled and I use a User account for regular use and an Admin account for any elevated priviledges while running on the User session. So my case might be different from some of you.
I tried Running Steam & Elden Ring as Admin while on my regular User profile, no dice.
I disabled EAC but that did not work either. I still kept seeing the Whitescreen at launch.
What eventually worked for me was signing in as the Administrative account on Windows and running the game with that session.
Now I'm trying to figure out if there is something else within the game that requieres Admin permissions and maybe that is what is causing the issue, in my case.
Hope this helps.
Right click C: drive and run Windows disk clean up tools for all temp files did the trick for me.
Cheers!
