Gsync is only available on certain monitors and is compatible with Nvidia while Freesync is for AMD GPUs. But some of them can work with both types of GPUs. Gsync or Freesync generally makes the game feel 'smoother' while your framerate is below your monitor refresh rate (60Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz, 240Hz). So let's say your monitor refresh rate is 60Hz then the game will 'feel' the best at 60fps and will start to feel really slow at around 45fps and below. The camera / character movements will feel delayed or unresponsive. Having a Gsync / Freesync monitor lessens those effects.
