Possible performance fix to LOW FPS LOCK

After a while trying every possible solution for the performance drops I lead to the conclusion that there is no fix(yet). BUT I found that what you can do is try to PREVENT it from happening by avoiding the following things:

1.-DONT ALT-TAB to desktop or any other window.
2.-DONT CHANGE GRAPHICS OPTIONS

I concluded that everytime I did this my game locked to what it felt like 20 fps. The cutscenes were in slow motion and audio out of sync etc etc. So if you want to configure your graphic options accurately, try doing it until you feel that 'performance drop' and restart the game and then continue configuring.

Oddly enough I managed to get out of this 'low performance lock' when I lowered the texture quality from HIGH(2GB) to HIGH(0.25). After that, the game started running very well and I brought the graphics back to HIGH(2GB) or even HIGH(3GB) and felt no difference whatsoever. Thanks to this I managed to find out about the other things. Its a weird game.

ALSO try the usual tweaks that you can easily do in your pc:

-Nvidia control panel stuff(setting texture filtering to performance and more)
-disable fullscreen optimizations n stuff
-Set your pc power profile to maximum performance
-set game priority to high
-optimize your windows overall

There are plenty more things to do.


Hopefully I can help anyone. Because this is what is currently working for me and I can finally enjoy this game.

I have a 1080Ti....i have no RT. ;-)
Set IQ to 1.0, why not, if i want´n DSR i use a higher resolution, most this setting is better.
...all other made no difference to the daughters bite drops.

Unfortunately Special K doesn't work with G-SYNC/Freesync

I think it has no impact for settings, you could use it with no vsync or other.....but you must dl it over Discord, the HP is not updated. ;-)


...but it is very random, what you do....it´s not really a fix, but SOMETIMES it´s working like expected.

I only set "Direct3D 12 Settings > SwapChain Management > Presentation Interval = 1" for vsync.
Actual version of specialk i dl at discord, homepage is not updated.
But like i said it´s only work, when im in game go to options and random change display settings...sometimes it´s working, sometimes not, but when it´s working it´s good.

put everything on low or off, then use full screen mode, there are times the game will slow down. you need to close the game then load it again.

Hi guys... I have this specs
AMD Ryzen 5 3600
16G ram
Windows 10 updated
tuf gaming x570 plus
Nvidia gtx 1050 (already made change in the nvidia panel)

I put all settings on low but still getting a reading in graphic card of 3.8g/1.9g in red/white in the game. I´ve seen people playing lower than 0.8/1.9g in graphic card with the same display settings.

Any advice?

Check the #releases channel of my Discord. Any version (SpecialK64.7z) newer than about 15 days ago has performance fixes for this game. Just rename the DLL to dxgi.dll and put it in your game's directory.

Are you crazy? :P SK has a number of features to make G-Sync and FreeSync actually work in games that would otherwise be incompatible with it.

Hi, master....no i´m not crazy, this is my normal condition. ;-)

....i have no Free-/G-sync i have a old monitor with only 60Hz.....but this way, it works, but it is complicated and strange.

....newer specialk don´t really work, only from 19.05. and 21.05. are good, but i think the version from 19.05 works better.

....kneeling for master. :-)

p.s. but i have no know, only eyes. ;-)
